Technical Wheel info

And currently, I suppose, in Wales.

I assume you'll be in Didcot all week.
Tomorrow we have an appointment at the Swindon hospital around 4pm, so should be home by 5:30. I could scamper across and try it, or you could scamper here.
Tuesday timings are unknown, as I will be in Chippenham late afternoon, not sure when I'll escape, but could text when avaialble.

Or might werdna be able to assist perhaps?

Other than that, what does a simple tape measure suggest? Presumably the space saver is in the way?

From your experience, how many times have you ever needed a spare? Would the space saver be ok?
Although a space saver on motorways or dual-carriageways are frightening if you stay below the legal 50mph. Even trucks arrive behind very quickly.

Pictures of my 14 inch wheel in the wheel well. I reckon you might just do it. Approx 15mm on either side.

Tried that, no it doesn’t fit, in fact it doesn’t fit in the boot at all with the parcel shelf in place...

Read post 1! Does a full size 15(?)inch alloy and tyre
Fit in the wheel well ? Not in the boot

Read it.... and if you read my post, no it doesn’t fit ( in the well ) neither does it fit in the boot with the parcel shelf in place. So not at all then.

Will depend on tyre size.
Teh 15" on the Panda should be a lower profile tyre so rolling diameter should be similar to the 14". However, space saver may be smaller diameter.

Standard 175x65x15 on alloy rim does not fit in the spare wheel well, I assume there must be some technical reason why it cant be big enough, on the other hand it is Italian and therefore logic would not be applicable.

No it doesn’t fit Charlie varesecrazy

I managed to get one in the 4x4 TA by letting the tyre down, but then I couldn’t get it back out. I honestly thought I wouldn’t be able to remove it - much swearing later I did finally. Don’t bother trying!

As an aside a full 18” alloy and tyre will fit in an Abarth Punto (despite everyone saying it wouldn’t!), so I was convinced I’d get the Panda one to fit! :bang:

Thanks all. :)

Have a retro.fit space saver.. came with the car ..used.

But would like a 70mph tyre ;) hence the alloy question

Will update with my own findings: results

Probably worth checking pads so a front wheel off.

Done 12.5k but disc appears lipped

Offer of help for tonight or tomorrow still stands. Hopefully you still have my mobile number.

Hi All. Just to clarify your findings, I have bought a multijet Antarctica to upgrade my 1.2 07 4x4, Love it but having more punctures in the last few years than in previous 50 years of driving I cannot do without some sort of spare so if not a full size I will settle for a temporary use space saver, so the query is as there are 15 inch 175s fitted to the Penguin do I need a 15 inch space saver? and will that fit in the wheel well?
Thanks in anticipation of your advice.

This has been answered before here somewhere... but to save you searching:
Yes, you need a 15" space saver, fitted with a 125/80 R15 tyre.

This will fit in the spare wheel well.

Note that you also need a jack specific to the 4x4 (owing to its increased ground clearance) - the jack from a Fiat Doblo or Qubo is the same. The jack will not fit inside the wheel in the well, so travels in its own bag, either in the boot or under the passenger seat.

I have a spare spare wheel, jack and tools in the Fiat bag... (old, but perfectly usable), recovered from my 2013 4x4 when traded in! Available to collect from Hertfordshire...
