Hi
The front passenger seat is jammed and is now slightly askew. Anyone got any ideas on how to rectify? Would it cost a lot in a garage? Is it an MOT failure (got MOT in two months). Thanks

Hi
Its not the backrest adjuster it is physically sliding the whole seat forward / back i.e. to give yourself extra leg room etc.

Hi.
It runs on rails bolted to the floor.

Possible something has come undone..

Check for loose bolts.. then try sliding to the rear extremes.

The adjuster 'handle' moves a catch on the rail.

Maybe yours should move 2 catches.. but only the one rails catch has released.

Should be almost identical to drivers seat..for comparison.

Idea : foreigh object slid down and jamming it.. coin..hair grip..etc.?

Mot?
Probably ok.

As its a 4 door.. its not trapping rear passengers..or effecting the driver.

As above. Have seen coins, pens and assorted other stuff jammed in the rails, causing the "lock" on one side to stick, so check for that.
Never seen one have problems otherwise unless it was physically damaged (major impact damage, car scrapped, seat bent) or unbolted (seen one with just the front bolts, rears completely missing, easy fix!)

MOT - possibly fail IF seat moves when pushed/pulled without handle pulled, but otherwise probably not.

But much better to get it sorted anyway.

Worst case, seats can be got second hand cheaply, and base and back can be swapped over with a small amount of effort and a few tools.
