Hi all,
Thought I’d share my experience with a Panda 4x4.
Not been on this site for a while so it may have been mentioned before.
Typical clutch failure presented itself. Pedal to floor but still ‘crunching’ gear changes but drive ‘slip’ not noticeable at the time.
Called out Green Flag and the guy said the clutch had gone.
I asked him to check if any adjustments could be done but he said no, it was hydraulic.
He did notice the clutch pedal was power than the brake pedal and he pulled up the pedal by hand, ‘hey presto’ the clutch worked fine again.
When I looked at the clutch pedal linkage, I noticed slight corrosion around the clevis fork. Had this been the problem that the linkage had seized up temporarily, I don’t know. WD sprayed on the clevis assembly.
It could have been a costly experience if I’d let Green Flag tow it away.
Has anyone else had this same problem, I’d like to know exactly what went wrong and is it likely to reoccur?
