I've had my Panda Waze 4x4 for a month now. It had scratches on collection which the dealership rectified as stated in a previous post. Unfortunately it's now developed a loud squeak when driving like an old mattress. I've only done 250 miles in it. I refused to go back to that dealer so have taken it to another branch. It's got to go in for repair. They've said they need to dismantle the suspension as there's a problem with it. I think i have a dud as i've never had these issues with a new Fiat before. It's all a bit crap. I just hope it can be easily fixed.

That sucks but I'm sure they will fix it. Bit early to assume you have a dud as there is no real relation between the problems. Once in a while a bad part might slip threw that doesn't mean the car is badly build. I hope the new dealer will sort you out and you can enjoy your car without any problems the coming years. Good luck(y)

Hi.
That's why cars have a warranty, anything man made can have an issue, small defects are common to any make or item. I was a TV engineer for over 40 years and failures within the first two months of purchasing a new TV were very common. Your issue could be a dry bush or some other small thing so don't put it down to a dud, Friday cars are a thing of the past these days. Good luck.

Yes it may be my over reaction hopefully it will be sorted.
If you're a bit of a pessimist - like me - it's easy to become depressed by things like this. However, as everyone else here is saying, I'm sure it'll all get sorted out and you'll be fine. My Ibiza, bought new in 2016, developed a turbo problem at 2 years (and under 9,000 miles) old. A complete new unit was fitted under warranty - at no cost to me other than being without the car for a week - and I've subsequently found that the bit on the old one that went wrong is a modified part on the new one so hopefully that's completely sorted. I felt quite down about it for a week or so but now, having been down to Devon and back at Easter without incident, I've regained confidence in her entirely. So, as my Mum used to say, Chin up! it'll be absolutely fine? Thank goodness for warranty though as I believe the cost without would have been around the £1800 mark!!!

The good news is that they've acknowledged that there is a fault, and have undertaken to fix it. You could have been fobbed off with the usual guff: "It's just bedding down, give it a few months" or worse, "They all do that".

I think the original dealer would have given that line but luckily the place i've taken it to are lovely and knew there was a fault straight away.

Sorry to hear of your woes. I am a big pessimist so I always feel like your post sounded if things go wrong. Squeaky suspension is 99% a simple issue and a one off problem so dont le tit get you down. I have now done 565 miles and its still good. At last yesterday I fitted the last of the parts I was swapping from my old one.

My last Panda the door mirror used to fall out when I closed the passenger door. It was fixed OK. I also had to have a new clutch cylnder as the pedal went to the floor and woldl only come up if I lifted it! That was a faulty spring inside the master cylinder. Again it was a few hours and fixed 100% at the first go so not too bad.,

Let us know once your running again. It will be fine before long!

Thanks for the lovely replies. All booked in for 31st so a few days more squeaking to go.

So my car went in on 18th May to diagnose the problem. I was told my suspension needed taking apart and they needed it a full day to repair. I took it in st 9 am this morning. I've had a call at 4.10 to say we can't fix it today we need to order new dampers. So more inconvenience and another day without my car again as they haven't had courtesy cars available for me either times so far. Apparently the springs aren't releasing and it's a fault Fiat are well aware of. I love Pandas but really regret buying this.

Bad news..

You can use any FIAT agent for warranty work.

Sounds as if you would struggle to find another as bad.. :(

The fun continues. I left the car with them last night. They have now cleaned the brakes and ruled out any issues there. They have taken the suspension apart and ruled that out. They have said i need to leave it with them for a few days and they will basically strip it down to hopefully find the fault. If they can't they will contact Fiat to see where to go next.

New dampers.. and not fixed :(

I would be in touch with FIAT slough myself..

How old is the car now?

The car is just over 6 weeks old. I've never had this with a new car before. It's getting me stressed. It sounds like an old squeaky mattress when i'm driving. I'm giving them one more attempt to fix it and then i'll be on to Fiat. It would be a lovely car if not for this.

Contact FIAT anyway..

Time is ticking for a rejection of the cat.. if its a lemon.

2 dealers have yet to sort this

Is the sound from the front or the back?
If the back, do you have a space-saver spare tyre? If 'yes', is that correctly placed in the boot, and the screw that holds it tight? (My 2013 Panda 4x4 squeaked when I picked it up and this was the culprit). Or, if you have the 'Fix and Go' kit in the boot, same question, as the polystyrene tray will squeak if the big plastic nut that holds it down is loose.

Logical - empty the boot/well. Then try.

We had rattle on our older Panda, coming from the rear. Very annoying. Thought it was the headlining, then the rear seat, then the rear shelf, the rear door, then the dampers and springs.

It was the tow hook ratting against the jack in the spare wheel well.

I have a fix and go kit. I will have another look as the boot had been previously ruled out. I'd love it if it was something that simple.

Any updates on the issue? Most of the 'squeaks while driving' sounds I've had have been from the bushings in the front suspension, which can't be diagnosed properly because they won't squeak when the car is up on a lift or moved by hand, but will when it's all put back together and carries the weight of the vehicle on the road.
