When did the various euro 5 to 6 changes take place with the panda.

My 2013 punto is 99g : £0 VED

500s seem to be 92g & 95g.. ??

Cannot see reliable panda data..

Specifically hoping for confirmation of the @2017 realignment figures

Was the panda ever £0.. what is it now??

Thanks. Charlie

I don't think it had anything to do with Euro 5 or 6 - simply that UK tax changed. All new cars registered after (I think) April 17 pay fixed tax of £140 after first year. First year figures depend on emissions but only electric vehicles had zero rate.
Technically, Euro 6 standards took effect from September 2014

Haven't they changed the tax system again? 1 of my friends has just bought a brand new Corsa 1.4, and he reckons the tax on it is £30 a year.
Not so far as I know... First year will have been more like £130, and then £145 every year after that (see here https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables )

Bear in mind, that's only about £12 a month - less than 5 high street cups of coffee so not really a big deal compared to what we pay for everything else in our lives these days

I seem to think the Panda went from Euro 5 to Euro 6 early 2014. Me thinks it was March.

As already stated, the RFL changed for cars registered from April 2017.
They all pay £140 (now £145 since the budget).

Euro spec didn't really come in to it between 2001 and March 2017, RFL was worked out on Bands relating to CO2 they produced. (or to be more correct, how much CO2 they could be nobbled to produce in a lab)

I believe the pre 2017, normal 2wd TA came in at £0
The Trekking, both TA and MJ at £20
The 4x4 TA and MJ at £30

It didn't make any mention of 1st year petrol engine car tax on that page, only diesel.

Read the heading of the second column right through: diesels of a particular spec, AND all petrol engines...
“Diesel cars (TC49) that meet the RDE2 standard and petrol cars (TC48)”

'TC' means tax class

varesecrazy under 2012-17 rules the fwd Panda was 5 speed. Adding 4x4 and extra gear added 15g of co2 which made it £30 instead of £0. If I didn't sit at set of traffic lights at top of a slope every so often wouldn't use eld on my 4x4 at all. Handy in freezing cold that's for sure....

If not bothered about Bluetooth, elec mirrors and "speakers" 5 and 6, a TA Easy all you need. If you can find one. As mentioned before, Conrad Anderson fitted cruise control worth it for £500 if would make it perfect car. Not many gear changes with 5 speed. My 3 1.2's, particularly the 65 plate Easy Euro 6, probably the 2nd best motorway car of all the 23 cars had. Best Vectra 1.9CDTI 150. But that was always broken. :(

Changing the subject slightly: my gf has a euro 5 Punto 1.4 8v, and I'm sure it makes a different noise to the euro 4 1.4 in my Grande. Why is that?

That'll be the 2 extra cylinders ;)

:confused::confused::confused:

Edit: To answer though, the Euro5 is likely to be restricted slightly to lower the emissions, so it will sound different.
