My new Panda Waze 4x4

I went to collect my Panda Waze 4x4 today. Unfortunately there were some scratches to the bumpers the dealership tried to play dumb about. So i've got to take my new car in for repairs already. They said it had been valeted but it was dirty. It should come with floor mats as standard according to the website but there weren't any so currently in dispute about getting these. So all in all an anti climax especially as i'm unwell at the moment. Bit of a rubbish day.

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

As dealer supplied mats around 63, just let it go, can get for around half the price.

PS note the year. Won't fit otherwise!

Mats in Italy pricier than deal just posted. Though all appear to be sent from the UK. Feel an argument coming on about staying in Europe.....

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

I'm hearing back from the dealer tomorrow. Don't really want to let it go. Think how much Fiat are saving if every sale they fail to provide mats when they should be included. We'll see. On another note i absolutely love the twin air engine. I turned the eco button off. It's far better to drive than the 1.2 and i love the engine noise.

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

Glad enjoying. Only use eco button in really cold weather to let engine fully warm through. 1.2 would wipe the floor with an eco buttoned Twin Air maybe (13 of your horses will have headed for the glue factory). Engine properly run in after 5k miles I believe. Don't believe can damage it from new. Saw 98 mile 14 plate TA 4x4 I'd tried several years later at Asda. Pretty sure same car and I'd wellied it. And my Dad sampled few months before.

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

Has anyone actually had mats included with their new Panda? All three of my 4x4s over the years have arrived 'matless' (but I have added non Fiat ones to them). I would like a set of proper, deep-sided custom-fit rubber ones to keep dirt and water from muddy wellies from running onto the carpets, but they don't seem to exist in RHD shape (Fiat list them on their other websites for LHD countries -

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

Its patently clear that the wallies in Turin think that they need to call the standard carpets 'Mats' as none ever have the accessory mats fitted. Hence they are an accessory! As the web site recons the twin air will do 65 mpg and that the 4x4 has drum brakes on the back axle nothing these idiots say will surprise me. I found a 'configure your Waze' site on the Fiat web site. Hooray I thought, will be able to find out what the spec includes. It clearly states the Waze 4x4 has climate control and 5 seats / head rests and belts all of which is complete cobblers. Mind you it does direct you to configure a City Cross.......

I have written to Fiat and pointed out that this sort of hogwash does little to inspire potential customers. As you might expect there has been no response. Their written information is riddled with error and inaccuracy and they have so many previous versions of the Fiat web site linked to dealer sites there is little point in looking... ALso remember the disclaimer on the back that says they can change the spec at any time and you must consult the dealer.

Fiat should stop their ignorant misuse of English and just publish in Italian if they are not capable of better descriptive than this. Google could do a better job of translation after 16 pints of beer!

Rant over until the next time I think about it.

I am still waiting for my waze, but I shall be checking it out very closely before accepting it, and if it is damaged in any way I shall reject it outright and go but something else, or even not bother. What dealer worth their salt would try and pass off a damaged car for a new one. I did experience this once with a Renault. I rejected the car as soon as I found out and this was 4000 miles down the road! To their great credit the response was " Sorry, there will be a new car ready for collection at 5pm this afternoon" and there was just that. Full marks to that Main dealer in Norwich for that. Its a lesson that you need to check a new car very thoroughly indeed before accepting it. PDI inspections are just not detailed enough to identify faults. Its no wonder people mistreat dealers when sending in their PX's with this sort of behaviour. Do please name and shame this shoddy dealer so we can all avoid them in future.

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

They do appear to be listing such in the current accessory catalogue albeit at the cost of 7 sets of decent mats from Aldi! May be trading standards should be asked to look into this matter as it seems to be annoying most of the new panda purchasers on here.

Unfortunately in respect of the waze its only dealers that are posting specifications so it can't be me that will challenge on this one. Fiat carefully avoid giving any info on the Waze...... Just as well as they clearly don't know what this is anyway.

Re: My new Panda Waze 4x4

The dealer is Stoneacre Fiat Chesterfield. My dealings prior to this were good. They have put polish on the scratches to try and cover them but they show up more. The guy I collected the car from worked for a different brand and had aN interested customer so i was ushered off before a proper look around. Now i know why. I just hope they get it sorted quickly. But i will never use them again. I'm glad i'm not the only one having issues with the mats. Fiat really need to buck their ideas up.

I'm still confused about what the Waze is. Mine clearly has Cross written on the side strips.

That's personalisation for you. They've supplied you with a car that reflects your mental state at their poor customer service.

It's shocking that they attempted to fob you off with a car that's been damaged, and such a shame that it's taken the gloss off what should have been a happy experience.

I've attached a pic of my new car. I do love it despite the stress of the dealership fiasco. I'm a little sad over the demise of the cd player. I'm not very tech savvy.
