I picked my new Panda 4x4 up today and it came with a 'dust cover' looking just like yours.

My 4x4 TA 2018 filler is exactly like yours. I did not realize you could get a "dust" cover.
It strikes me any vandal, so minded' could shove any crap into the tank as it stands. I really would have preferred some better security on the filler

Part C should be present on the fuel door.

Re: Fiat panda 2018 fuel cap dust cover

I have had three of the latest Panda models, and all three have had that dust cover in place. The most recent is straight from the factory, so I guess it should be there on the OP's car too.
It is listed as a separate part, number 71 771 490, in this diagram here: https://www.fiatdalys.lt/diagrams/D2...ACBC732CAB.png

The filler nozzle has a metal plate across it that can only be opened by putting the end of the correct fuel pump into it (it won't open if the size is not exactly right - and so prevents you putting petrol in a diesel car, or putting leaded into a petrol one - or anything 'wrong' into either). Commonplace across the Ford range as well as the Panda. (look up Ford SmartFuel)

My 2017 model has the rubber cover. It would appear to be vital too. I shall check my new one has one when delivered Thanks for the warning. I would complain and ask for one to be provided.

They all should have - it is not an 'optional part', it is an integral piece of the fuel filler flap. Those few where it is 'missing' have not got it owing to damage or someone taking it off by mistake

Re: Fiat panda 2018 fuel cap dust cover

My 2018 TA 4x4 did not have this part when delivered (???? PDI ????). After seeing these posts I emailed my Dealer to ask for one to be supplied and arrange for fitting. Shortly after the Service Manager phoned me to say Pandas do not have this part and went on to explain how the filler worked. When I gave him the part number he paused and said he would look into it and phone me back Monday. I have just emailed them again, passing on all the useful information and knowledge contained in this thread. Thank goodness for this Forum, I am not impressed by the dealer, so far
I do really like this little car very much and hope it is not going to be a problem. Pretty well top of my priorities in a car is reliability (car and dealer!)
A little story (having no connection with the above at all) Many years ago I had a new Vauxhall Cavalier Estate (actually a Company Car) and it broke down on the way home from the dealer, at about 5 miles At around 4000 odd miles it was using as much oil as petrol. I have never had another Vauxhall!

Make what you will of that.

I went to the Fiat dealer again its true some export models do not come with it ( if you see my photo you notice that were it should fit its closed) but fortunately he ordered the part for me for free and they will fit it also.
