General Buying a new panda cross

General Buying a new panda cross

What is everyone's experience with running in the twinair engine? We've done about 400 miles so far with about 41mpg, I'm guessing the TA will loosen up a bit in the next few hundred miles?

We've been impressed, it's not fast but it is nippy! Is this also likely to improve?

It takes several thousand miles for the TwinAir to loosen up - after 72,000 miles I get around 40mpg in a 4x4 - it doesn't feel nippy but is much quicker than a 1.2 especially up long hills with a load on board.

So anyone with a 4x4 or Cross the Part no. 59137473. The front wheel drive car 59137471. The only person I know with a front wheel drive TA on here is @JCarp16 for instance. Majority of owners have the 1.2.
I can now confirm that I fitted door sill guards with part 59137471 to a 4x4 Panda, and they were a perfect fit. Any difference between this and 59137473 may just be wording on the stainless steel insert? (eg 4x4 logo?)

You're right - there do appear to be two part numbers and some dealers suggest the part wont fit the 4x4/cross versions. So far as I know, those I fitted to my 4x4s (all three!) didn't specifically say '4x4' anywhere on the packing... but I don't think I have the part number still.

Currently these on eBay: http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=202332316065

However, the rear bumper guard definitely is different shape:

I just picked up a rear guards cover for the bumper, so I'll fit it when the car is next clean... Thanks for the link!

We're both still loving the car, makes us smile whenever we hear the little engine revving away!
