I am disappointed by how the oil we are meant to use performed, seeing as magnatec only had 0.01mm wear vs 0.11mm for our recommended oil.

The closest Castrol edge titanium is 0w40 and that scored quite well at 0.04mm.

I have used Castrol edge titanium on my oil change previous to my last, didn’t see much difference really, but I wouldn’t expect to notice anything.

So, I have leftovers of both and will need to purchase a couple of litres to make a complete oil change, what should I do?

Utter nonsense. Called the one armed bandit test. I can't do link, but basically for a start what you have here is nothing to do with how oil works inside an engine. It's been debunked many times. People who get sucked into this stage show are easily parted with their cash on buying the supposedly BEST performing oil. Look up bench bearing oil test debunked. I actually spoke about this some time ago but cant find the thread.

Ownership after 2.5 years 22000 miles later TA 85 2012 5W40 C3 OIL...
OIL purchased from B AND M CARLUBE.
OIL purchased from E C P TRIPLE Q X PD
OIL purchased from THE RANGE CAR KIT £6.99 A LITRE.
And the Panda says...I LOVE THEM ALL..
Make your own mind up..

I feel so silly! I thought it was semi conclusive! If anyone knows about the Faher oil additives, I have been shown the demo in front of my eyes and was fully believing of it, strange to think that it’s not the same as engine wear. I wonder if it’s a solid thing for my bicycle chain oil (the oil they were testing in the bicycle shop i used to work in years ago)

I guess I’ll go for Selenia for now then.

Cheers, may as well close! Lol.

Don't feel silly. Back in the '60's and '70's a well known (very well known) maker of engine oil additive was using the commercial version of this test to show how "good" their product was. They came to our garage and gave us a promotional "show" during the tea break. I was utterly convinced (but too poor to buy the product). In later years I've read several reports which completely debunk the validity of this test.

Buy a good quality oil, to the correct spec for your car, made by a "name" you trust and you really won't go far wrong. Just be sure to change it regularly - personally I'd have nothing to do with extended oil service intervals either!

A wee PS.

Selenia - made by Petronas? yes?

I buy the actual Petronas product from Shop4Parts as well as most of my service items and other Fiat parts. Their prices and quality are very good but if you make a contribution to the forum (even a very small contribution) you can avail yourself of the Forum discount and if you spend enough (£25 last time I ordered) you won't pay shipping.

What a coincidence, had my panda for less than a week and thought I'd get some oil. Hours I searched for a "suitable" oil and yes Selenia did pop up.
Having had VW group cars for ages I always used either Quantum or Fuchs (careful how you say it) but now having my Panda the search began and I opted for this.
