Hi.
The hand book layout of the fuse box is rubbish with not all the fuses listed and the relays are not listed at all. Does anyone have a full picture or is there a link to the full diagram? Any info would be great. Relay positions are needed too.
The car is a Panda 1.2 Lounge 2014 (March).

Hi.
Last request on this. I'm still having heater fan issues and basically need to know the location of the relay that feeds the heater fan and the 12v socket, both go off at the same time, a tap on the fuse box and the function is restored for a few minutes. Fuse 08 (under bonnet fuse box) has been replaced but it was OK anyway. The last time I removed the relays one by one that I could gain access to and switched on the ignition to see if one I pulled stopped the fan and socket. Snag was I didn't get all the relays out and landed up with no accelerator operation, a reset with Alfa OBD fortunately cured that. So I don't want to fiddle I'd rather be sure I'm pulling/replacing the correct relay.
Please help.

Sadly, no answer for the 312 Panda, but does this diagram from the earlier model help in any way? (bottom of the page here) https://d32ptomnhiuevv.cloudfront.n...iles/product_jackets/Haynes-5558-page-6_1.jpg

Hi.
Thanks for the link, the 312 has a different fuse box (under bonnet) to the 319 with less relays, the fuse 08 though seems to protect the same circuits. I have already spoken to the dealer and asked if I could be told the position of the relay and was told they wouldn't disclose its position but would do a diagnostic for £60 plus VAT, I told them to get stuffed.

Hi.

Well I have had the fuse box out and the relay that controls the fan and the power socket is a Red one on the bottom row on the far left. To gain access you need to unclip the plastic cover from the fuse box after removing the front cover from the box. one cable tie needs to be cut from the cable form at the top. Two plastic lugs hold the actual fuse box assembly into its plastic casing, flexing the casing away from the fuse box and it just pulls up. There is sufficient cable to turn the box round to see the connections and crimps.

The fan was working once I pulled the box up and I reconnected the battery earth and left it on on position 4 with the engine running, after five minutes it stopped. The relay was actually quite hot at that point so a look at the voltages confirmed either an intermittent connection or faulty relay. There was 14v on one thick lead, zero on the other (Both Grey with a grey tracer), 13v on the one side of the relay's coil connection (thin White) and zero on the other (thin Black) that is correct. A little poke on the relay and the click could be heard and the fan re-started.

I removed the relay and took it to the bench, opened it up and the contacts did look a little charred, the coil read 79 ohms. I've cleaned up the contacts and sprayed them with contact lubricant, cleaned all the pins and tightened the connectors in the fuse box.

All working now and if it fails again I'll try to order a new relay.

I'd order a new one anyway and keep it in the glovecompartment. Then you can change it the minute the old one fails again. Was there a partnr on it?

Hi.
Indeed I'll order one and keep it ready. There was a number on the relay but it was hard to read. All the red ones are the same though so it shouldn't be too hard for the dealer to get it right. I might see if there are any in the breakers, most likely the same relays are used on the 500 as well.

Hi.
Well cleaning the relay didn't last. I swapped it with another and still nothing. By this time I was pulling out my hair. I then tried another that turned out to be the fuel pump relay and it worked. The other two relays were tried in the fuel pump position and the pump didn't run!! On swapping it back the pump runs, the engine wouldn't run without stopping after so I had to clear the codes in the ECU to resume normal service. In the meantime I've made a link up on the relay socket for the fan, I just need to remember to turn the fan off when stopped or I'll have a flat battery. I've no idea what the other relay feeds as everything else appears to work. Two relays are on order.

Hi.
I've discovered the other relay feeds the Heated Rear Screen, it was working prior to swapping it! They must be poor quality if it fails on removal, hopefully the two new ones will be OK. In the new year I think I'll get a few from the breakers for spares.

You can buy all manner of relays from places like RS components; it's just a matter of figuring out the spec you need. Just about anything else is probably better than the Fiat OEM part.

Why on earth did I not think of RS????? I've had an account with them since I had the Radio & TV repair shop. Silly me!!

Snag is I don't want a box of 50

The two I got are Omron types, they look better than the ones from the car as they have a larger diameter contact. The Panasonic ones from RS are half what I paid for the Omron ones. Rather than scrounging relays from the scrappy ill get two more from RS so I'll have two good spares. So far so good with the Omron relays in the car, everything working as it should........ touch wood! ?
