Can anyone out there in Panda-Land tell me what the differences are between the ground clearances of a regular Panda, a 4x4, and the Panda Cross? I can’t see this information anywhere in the latest Panda brochure or on the Fiat web site (am I missing something?).

On the standalone brochure for the Cross, the ground clearance is stated as 158mm for the Diesel, and 161mm for the Twin Air.

The 4x4 is a tad less. They're essentially the same except that riding on larger 185/65 tyres, the Cross gains 6.5mm in tyre sidewall over the 175/65 tyres on the 4x4.

Not huge for a SUV, most are in the 175-210mm range, with hardcore Land Rovers etc even more.

I've never seen ground clearance for the standard Panda quoted, but magazines have stated that the 4x4 has a 'raised ride height' of 50mm.

Thank you TinyTurbo - really useful information that I couldn’t find anywhere... good to be able to compare. I have a Lounge and my wife a Cross, I’m trying to decide whether to change my Lounge to a 4x4 or get another Cross. Thanks

If you look in the car handbook, at the back under dimensions, the total height is shown as 1551mm for the Lounge and 1605 for the 4x4. The difference between the Lounge and 4x4 is 54mm, and I believe you can assume this to be the difference in ride height. Do beware that in those same diagrams, the Cross has roofbars that stand proud of the roof so you cannot use its height measurement to compare the same way.

I agree with TinyTurbo that the Cross stands about 6.5mm higher because of its taller tyres. Some places say the TwinAir engine sits lower to the ground than the diesel but both 'about' 50mm higher than regular Panda
