I'd cancel that skiing holiday if I were you.
We had two 1.2 500s and one 1.2 Panda, all with air con.
In my personal opinion, and based on our day-to-day experience, there was little difference in terms of fuel consumption. Or put it this way, no noticeable difference. I'm happy to concede having it on will of course have used up more fuel as that's the logical conclusion.
The big difference I found is that air con would really suck the power out of the 1.2 when negotiating hills. No problem on the flat, just required more effort when roads became steeper.
Air con is an absolute must for me, I certainly wouldn't consider turning it off to save money. If you need it on, put it on!
