Well, I'd rather have more power than less. You don't have to use all of it all of the time. That being said, I'll be very happy in my 90hp Panda Cross I expect.

Na.
I'd not buy a German car again. BMW, well they buy Hans Glas and commit to keep it going and then shut it. Hans Glas made the first production car with a toothed belt to drive an overhead camshaft.
VW have rather dubious beginnings and nicked the design of the Beetle from Hans Ledwinka who worked for Tatra at the time and gave the credit to Ferdinand Porsche.
They have twice lied about emissions, years ago with the MK1 Polo and the recent dieselgate scandal.
Even their 3 cylinder engines are not VW designs but an engine whipped off the Skoda drawing board. All above can be found on the tinternet!!!

I'm not certain that i will buy a Audi A1.
I expect them very pricy in S-Line outfit with 1.5 TFSI engine.

Insane prices for new A1.
€ 34K for first edition with 116 hp 3 cilinder engine in German configurator.
That would be at least a € 40K car in my part of de world.

I went from a twin turbo V6 S4 Avant (estate) to my first Fiat, a Marea Weekend 110JTD that cost less than a set of tyres for the S4 and was very happy.

I always take NCAP test results with a grain of salt, because they immediately knock off one star for not having stupid things like lane keep assist, forward collision prevention and other expensive electronic doodads that replicate the attention the driver should be paying to the road in the first place. That being said, the airbag inflation issue is serious and unfortunate, so I'd call this a 3.5 star safety rating in the real world, which is still underwhelming, but wouldn't stop me from buying one.

The deformation of the door frame looks nasty. I can live without the lane assist and autonomous braking gubbins, but there's no excuse for not getting the passenger cell and airbag deployment right, in this day & age.
