Hi All, so after 11 weeks I've taken delivery of my new panda 0.9TA 4x4.

Just wanted to highlight some changes to the advised spec:

Now only comes with 1 Usb socket on the dashboard for data/power. No longer provided with a 2nd usb slot and Aux connector in the glovebox.

Sold as having smoked/burnished wheels now standard alloy silver same pattern/shape though.

I was expecting Rubber mats, just standard carpet ones now.

So some of the changes are not major but the 2nd Usb/Aux is still advertised and now i can either listen to music on my usb stick or charge a device. Yes the 12v/18v power socket is there but had planned to use usb with much smaller cable.

So just sharing what I have learnt.

Hope this is useful to someone. :)

So having taken a closer look at my wheels this morning they are in fact light Grey, but in bright sunshine pictures they look silver. So yes Smokey but not as dark as the online fiat pictures make them appear.

Thanks. So if I want a later spec car (66 plate onwards) I have 18 months of builds. Usb in glovebox waa great idea. Can be hidden away and a mini DAB radio can be plugged in next to in aux socket. We should be thankful we have alloys. In Italy apparently not standard. You get black steel wheels instead. And car no cheaper don't think.

Ordered a Panda Cross a few weeks ago, here in Belgium. I definitively had to pay extra for rubber mats, a full 60 EUR... So I don't think they come as standard.

Not sure about specs in UK, but over here the 4x4 comes standard with black (steel, I think) wheels, and darkish grey alloys are an option. Not sure about the number of USB sockets, only the one on top of dashboard is specifically mentioned in the Panda catalogue I have here.

Did the dealer where you ordered give any info on this?

The black steel wheels aren't available on the UK models - but actually they look rather good, and more 'rugged' than the alloys...

Also, other things we get as standard in the UK are options elsewhere, such as heated door mirrors or body-coloured external door handles. I note in the options list, 'ventilated glovebox' is an option in Belgium too.

These wheels do look rather nice. Had seen them before in picures, but didn't realise they were steelies. Are they available in the UK?

What is the "ventilated glovebox" for?

BuckleyPanda take it they've not made DAB radio standard as lack of Aux in wouldn't bother me if it was. Phone holder usb meant to be low voltage so running an adaptor for 2 devices (assuming they exist) will end in tears.

Morning guys, I've been a long time lurker.

I took delivery of my updated 4X4 TA in January 2017 and it came with the new uconnect head unit, however there were no instructions on its use in the manual (still had old radio), online or from the dealer.

I can listen to music from the glove box USB by pressing the media button on the head unit but it took me a year to discover if I pressed media again I could stream direct from my phone.

Mmm, nice bike!!

I wasn't supplied with a manual that covers the techie stuff in my Cross (thanks, Glyn Hopeless) so all I know is that, if I hit the wrong button on the steering wheel, some disembodied female voice starts talking to me (rather impatiently, I feel. I'm not sure I like her tone).

I've learned to ignore it, and to proceed serenely on my way.

Occasionally my phone rings, and I find that I can answer it without having to pick it up, just by speaking at the windscreen. I don't have a clue how that happens - one of my kids must have played around with the settings.

Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. :D

@BopBopBop - snap! My 'new to me' 4x4 is same colour and I will put onto it the roof bars from my earlier 2013 one.

Uconnect seems to have little support: even the uconnect website makes no mention of the slightly odd way it is implemented in the Panda.

Have you added the Uconnect Panda app to your phone? That makes it all make a bit more sense. (search Apple App store or Google Play store for uconnect panda... its free.)

Sadly got mine a week ago, at 1 year old but only 2500 miles... then broke my arm so not driven it much since collecting it. I may try and put together a unconnect guide for fellow Panda-ists. Also, need to see how to tell the app that i have TomTom Go in the phone -- it cant see it.

The handbook for mine does have the uconnect radio in it - its right towards the back of the book (page 186) but its not terribly helpful :)

Can you see the PDF of the handbook here: http://aftersales.fiat.com/eLumData.../00_319_PANDA_603.91.262_EN_01_01.17_L_LG.pdf

Hiya, The DAB radio was a £100 option. I was happy knowing I could just stick a mini USB Stick in the glove box with my driving tunes on it. So for now I have stuck it in the dashboard one, but I wanted to avoid using my long curly charging cable for my sat nav as it tangles round the gear stick. So the usb charging point was a nice as it only needs a 4 inch cable. I have now ordered a cheap 4 inch USB splitter cable which is one socket for data and the other for charging, hope that fixes the problem I face. No real fix for the lack of AUX tho. As someone else mentioned the Uconnect works better with the free app on a smart phone, but definitely NOT easy to set up and I am very tech savvy. I got there eventually but the manual is not particularly helpful. I.E press the voice button and say Help, most useful way for setting things up.

Sadly the uconnect app does not support my old dual SIM windows phone which is just paired to the car over Bluetooth. I will try and download the latest manual.

The roof bars have been a most useful accessory, I just keep some rope in the boot and I have come home with all sorts tied to the roof. I did consider getting a bike rack for the bars but was put off by the thought of ripping it off if I caught a tree or height restriction.

I have got all of my music on the USB stick in the glove box and on a micro SD card in the phone and just discovered I can toggle between the two to play music by pressing the media button.
Can you let your phone do all the work and stream the music and do navigation and have a single short USB lead to provide the power?

"The roof bars have been a most useful accessory...". Me too! I do put my bike on the roof though... means I don't need to put a trailer socket on the car to get the lights on a rear-mount bike carrier.

Yes: on my phone I set Google Maps or Waze (and prob can with TomTom Go as well) to the setting that says 'audio as bluetooth' or 'audio as phone call'. Then it interrupts the music and gives the directions over bluetooth audio

Have just put an order in for a factory build 4x4 TA, after considering a deal on a pr reg with the MJ engine in standard spec, except for metallic paint.

However I decided I wanted to continue to have DAB radio, as fitted as standard in my current car and a winter pack (have a similar spec winter pack on our other car, which is a great option), so a new order appeared the only way to ensure on getting these options.

Dealers talking late September for delivery at the earliest.

Oh thanks to Herts Hillhopper for the handbook link.
