Just had a quick look through the forum for 2nd year servicing costs and can see that the average is about £200. I'd be happy to pay that considering what I've been quoted by my local dealer. How about £373.19!! That's about a hundred more than a full service for my Mini Cooper S and nearly as much as my dad's Jaguar service. Are they taking the absolute ****??

Oh yes!!! ...i have had my TA LOUNGE for two years now.It came with a full service from fiat..Ihave three service print outs and all are £280.00... The previous owner did about 5.000 miles between each service.Complete rip off. I self service now with genuine parts and Oil SPEC AS PER THE MANUAL.I did my service for £75.00.I am not to bothered about a service stamp as i am keep the car for long as possible....

Found another dealer not too far away that will do it for less and this time I'll make sure they put the right oil in unlike Lipscombe Fiat...

Apparantly some one said that the uniair modual need restting..After evey service Funny how fiat dont recommend it.

Hi Phil.
I know I don't have a TA but the engine really is of great interest to me.
I wonder if you mean that Fiat don't mention resetting the uniair module rather than not recommending a reset? If they don't do you have a link to that info.

Do all my servicing myself with genuine fiat oil and spares but when I bought my wife a punto evo for Christmas we did have the first 3 years service at a main dealer as I was under the impression you had to to maintain the warranty, first years service car had only done something like 1500 miles took it to main dealer and they quoted something like £240 so said to the guy I know we have a private plate but we're not made of money and this seems expensive considering it's only done 1500 miles,he said let me have a word with the manager and see what we can do,came back and said as it's done such a little milage we can do a short service for £187 ,I said what's a short service and he said oil and oil filter !!!!!

So, £187 just for an oil and filter change, and the other £53 to kick the tyres.

Sounds about right to me (for Fiat, that is).

The words "barrel", "over" and "bend" spring to mind.

Just looking at the 3rd year service and was quoted £176 for a minor, plus £35 for the MOT.
This compares with £309 for a 2nd year service.
I think the 1st service was £150 (it was higher because I insisted they change the oil/filter).
Not so cheap for a cheap car!
I’m looking at a Volvo xc40 and a three year service plan for that is only £399.

I’ll look around I think to see how much cheaper I can get it, but I must admit I’m concerned about the quality of the oil an independent will use.
Fiat really need to stop charging so much for so little.

NitramA where abouts are you based? Sample quotes I mentioned earlier in this thread were based in Derby and Essex.

£176 for a minor? Is that for the 9k inspection service? Wow. Presumably that includes an oil & filter change? But still Wow.

I'm fast approaching my 36k service. I can feel the pain in my wallet already.

gar074 is there anyone you trust you could pay an hour's labour to for 36k service if you supplied the parts? Should only be £60 of bits (oil, oil filter and pollen filter). Plugs should last 48k according to my mechanic. Weren't done on mine pre sale, neither were air filter and suspect pollen hasn't either ('16 plate). I'm not a cynic for no reason. But easily sorted. :)
