To replace our aging Nissan Terrano2 as workhorse on our shoot and as a 2nd family car, we ordered a Panda Cross twinair in "Verde Toscana" today!
Heated windscreen, spare wheel, parking sensors, tinted windows and folding rear seats as extras; I'll have a removable tow hook installed later.

Very curious how it'll behave on the country roads and on the mud here; the Nissan did well but was let down by its weight regularly... I'm also looking forward to full time (automatic) 4 wheels drive, instead of rear wheel drive and manually activated 4x4 (including manual hubs on front wheels!) on slippery roads only.

Strange thing though: when configuring the car on the Fiat Belgium website, the shining grey bumpers and side plates are shown in bodywork colours; dealer did not know anything about it. Other countries show them in shining grey. I hope the website did not goof and the parts come indeed in black or green, would make the car a lot more discreet.

You won't really have full-time 4wd - virtually all the drive goes to the front wheels virtually all the time unless you engage ELD, when you have 4wd with central diff, which cuts out at (I think) 30mph/50kph. Nevertheless, the whole thing works really well, benefitting from the light weight, and tending to run on top of the mud rather than sinking into it.

I know. Better system than the Nissan: full time rear wheel drive, 4wheel drive could be engaged with 2nd lever in the cabin - taking into account the manual hubs had to be turned to 4x4 on the front wheels.
And due to diff construction only 4x4 possible on slippery roads.

I've just looked at the Belgian website (fiat.be), and the 'real, 4x4 Cross' is shown with the 'ultrashine' metallic bumper and side panels, as it is elsewhere https://www.fiat.be/fr/panda/panda-cross

But the City Cross (the 2-wheel drive 'look alike') is shown with them in body colour https://www.fiat.be/fr/panda/panda-city-cross

Have you definitely ordered the 4x4 version (priced at €17,140 for the TwinAir engine)?

[added later: Oh, I see now what you mean: https://www.fiat.be/fr/panda/panda-cross-4x4-configurateur/#/version/003191CP2000/exteriors does indeed show body colour. I think that's a mistake! Exact same page on the UK site shows them silver - https://www.fiat.co.uk/panda-range/panda-cross-configurator/#/version/003191CP2000/exteriors ]

I think they indeed mixed up their website. Wouldn't be the first car manufacturer to do so :)

We did order the 4x4 version; having 4X4 is the entire point of the car for me.

So, an update with all the emission crap going on: delivery was planned for mid August. Have been told today "maybe end of October, but not sure".

Bummer.

Pretty sure the garage told me what they know, it is Fiat itself that were late with the emission testing.

Same for all other manufacturers, for that matter. Delays all over the place.

Just got confirmation that the elusive Panda entered the last phase of production - expected delivery time two to three weeks from now :spin:
