Turbo Panda 1.2 8v

Good afternoon good people of the forum.

Im doing some research regarding my build.
Im currently in the process of getting everything that is needed to install a turbo for my little Fiat Panda 1.2 8v 2015 year model.
Ive been told that the 1.4 (100HP) model Fiat 500's exhaust is exactly the same... is that true? Because im looking into having a company build the turbo exhaust manifold for me and they requested the exhaust gasket or old exhaust to create the flanges for the turbo.
Is there no direct bolt on i could possibly import or buy?

Kindest regards

Have you considered using a complete Abarth engine?

If you want the engine to stay alive for a long time, 10psi is the limit.
More then that and you need forged internals, to keep it alive.
And i know because of my Rotrex SC experience on the 1.2ltr 8V engine.

Hi. Yes I have, but there are numerous problems with that though.
For one, there aren't any available locally, so again direct import.
Secondly, then the car needs to be re-registered etc with the new engine number etc, and with that it is classified as a rebuild in my country.
Otherwise that would have been an awesome idea.
Thank you very much for that idea.

Hi,

Thank you for your valued point, so much appreciated.
I was told the exact same thing previously, thats why I am not going to be going higher that 7,25psi for now, until i can get the rest of the things sorted out.
The problem I am facing right now at this moment though is the exhaust turbo manifold, and I was informed that the 1.4 abarth etc exhaust does fit onto the car, do you know if thats possibly true or do you think i should rather have somebody make it from stratch. the fees involved with it being made out of stainless steel is approximation of R4000,00 ($322,00)

Re: Turbo Panda 1.2 8v

With 7.25 psi you wil end up with around 90 hp i reckon, otherwise you come to a to big of a turbo with a lot of turbo lag.
That's why i like Rotrex C15 Superchargers better on a small displacement engine.
My Rotrex C15-20 kit run 123 hp - 156 Nm in Prototype fase @ 10 psi on a engine dyno.

Where would link the supercharger pulley on a third generation Panda?

My system run on a separate belt with a siamese crank pulley.
Only possible on 1.2ltr 8v FIRE engine "without" Airco system.

Figured so, thanks!

it's a shame the 1.2 is so common but there aren't many turbo/sc projects on it

I only did a prototype fase with it and then put the essential parts in a box and sold the rest.

Some day i will build something with it.

A small turbo to give it a bit of torque at low revs would be nice i guess

Supercharger, power and torque straight from idle.
My kit is capable of 200+ hp with a Rotrex C15-60 SC and forged engine, @ 1.6 bar boost.

Not by my opinion.
There has to be a lot more changed for installing a turbo.
A supercharger + Bracket, 2 pulley's, and a belt, and you are done with a Supercharger.
