Firstly, I'm new here...so hello to you all :)

I am having an issue with the wiring inside the tailgate trim part where one of the rear licence plate lamps flickers when I go over a bump which causes a persistent warning on the dashboard. I believe it to be a wiring problem inside the sealed unit as I have swapped the bulb and cleaned the contacts for the bulb which didn't help. I'm talking about the part with PANDA lettering on it.

Does anybody have any experience opening this sealed plastic part up to repair it? I took it off and gave it a good look over and couldn't see a part number. Anybody know how I can get the part number/replacement?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Oh and I'm pretty sure it's available at the dealers. Bought one for a Stilo MW once for IIRC €50 or so. That was because moisture and dirt gets trapped behind the softrubber and the microswitches causing the boot not to open.

I think there are two part numbers listed.

One with the key hole for the key operated lock (Pop model).

And one without the key hole for models with central locking (with the micro switch in the handle), me thinks the P/N for this is 735551901

If you are struggling, I have one of the latter ones, it's got a bit of a scrape on it, but it works ok.

Thanks for all the info and follow up guys!

I will take a look at the wiring harness inside the boot and near the hinges to do some tests over the weekend and investigate further.

Cheers for the part number information. I think you are right, if I google 735551901 it looks to be the correct number. All 6 from the second link you posted seem to have a keyhole, plus I can not tell any difference between any of them anyway.

The wiring harness on Panda doesn't have issues like 500 in my experience. Unfortunately the release handle does and is pretty much sealed up. I've tried taking one apart without success, it broke. Alot.

I was able to have a look at this today. The issue was definitely inside the light module as it was only one of the license plate lamps having an issue. Turns out taking it apart was possible and then I just cleaned some of the contacts which had a fair amount of corrosion and it seems have fixed everything. I had to cut away some of the foam. I just hope the way I taped it back in place will not allow any water inside.

Thanks for the input guys!
