I do not live in Britain, (even though i am British) and here in Sweden it is both advisable due to proliferous speed cameras an desirable due to my aching and ancient body, to fit a cruise control, if that is at all possible. However, the price of such gizmos is just a tad painful. So, my friends I need to hear from anybody who has any experiences to share with us all.

What's good, what's bad and what's just an expensive waste of a few hundred quid? There must be somebody out there to give us some wisdom....WITHOUT the sarcasm and patronising remarks, please, you'll just get us all very bored, and we'll ignore you.

I see you've only just joined this forum. Welcome.
Mostly, this forum tries to be helpful. It is one of the very best forums out there. There will occasionally be sarcasm, like everywhere, but please continue to contribute and enjoy.

I did check the "similar posts" thing. only relevant post was a person asking exactly the same question, got no result. but what the heck I can delete the post if you insist

and for your information Portland Bill, I have so far read four threads, two of which had either "witty, droll" remarks, or it was noted that modertor had removed an offending remark. Not exactly what you said about this forum, which by the way is extremely difficult to navigate, and very user(un)friendly. I won't be coming back.

Hi,
you did not give us any information on which model Panda you have but expect instant wisdom and can assess a forum after reading four posts and a total time of less than 3 hours from first message to leaving?
I think your expectations are a little high.

Robert G8RPI.

Well for those that might be interested.

I believe there is a kit from a company called Conrad Anderson here in the UK.
https://www.conrad-anderson.co.uk/

I think at least one owner on here has had it fitted it to their Panda by the company (Deeyup?), but I believe it's possible to diy, though it does involve splicing a wire in the loom and soldering another in to it, the rest is plug and play.

The electronic/flyby wire throttle body Pandas work as a factory fit would, but there are kits for older, cable controlled models too.

The kits they use are well known, John Gold systems and I've driven cars with these systems in the past, they do what they do without any issues.

I was interested in a kit at one time, but I've gone off straight cruise control since the other half bought a new Vitara.
The SZ5 comes with Radar supported cruise as standard and it works fantastically.
Once you get used to it, it actually feels worrying to turn the thing off!

Also check his earlier thread where he asks about it first.

You could actually try following the link I posted, and find the supplier, as that poster did.
Or would you prefer someone popped across and fitted one for you?

I detect a hint of sarcasm:D

gr J

Just a touch.
First post was a bit strange, seemed to be expecting disappointment. I tried to counter this with help, but was met with resistance. I can see why he has found poor responses in other forums. A common denominator may have been found. Makes me wonder why we bother.

Makes me wonder why we bother.

We bother because, thankfully, this is the exception rather than the rule.

This thread is a pleasingly contrasting example of another new chap with a problem, but the right attitude.

There will always be a tiny minority of folks with no sense of internet etiquette; folks who barge into a forum, don't bother to introduce themselves, demand an instant solution to a problem that's baffled franchised dealers with a full set of diagnostics and the car in front of them, then bad mouth the forum when they don't get a reply in the first 15 minutes. Fortunately it's a tiny minority, and the rest more than make up for it.

Thank you and goodnight.

Oh dear, what is wrong with some people. I've always had good advice here and this forum stands out as being one of the best. The snobbery on other car forums is sickening, to come in and pre judge is quite frankly rude and uneducated, perhaps the OP should look in the mirror and count to ten.... Prior to asking questions.

‘Twas I in fact, a unit called a GoldCruise GC90 with a GC4 Preset Stalk. Not cheap but I use it pretty much every time I get near a motorway and it has been faultless for a couple of years. It was indeed from Conrad Anderson. I will try to find my thread about it when I’m next on a PC.....
