After a few months of ignoring my squeaky clutch it finally went. It was spectacular.... Screaming, couldn't put into gear and the smell of death.

I was quoted £350 by Mr clutch and then I found a mobile mechanic who will come out to where I had to leave the car and he has only quoted £300! Result.

Monday lunchtime should all be fixed . In the meantime I've been driving a chevrolet Kalos. I can safely say I'm not a fan.

Sounds like the release bearing. My clutch went in the 1242cc doblo at 120, 000 miles. My advice is not to sit ticking over with the clutch pressed down. Use the handbrake not the clutch and always use the foot rest not the pedal. Fiat release bearings aren't the strongest in the world.

Yep, if it was squealing sounds spot on. Make sure the guy uses OEM parts or better still buy them yourself from one of the online Fiat/Alfa specialists and save more £££ just paying for the labour.

It lives! Didn't think I'd miss driving the panda so much.... I've not had much love for the twinair since swapping my dynamic for it.

It was the bearing.... sound advice, thank you ?

Hi.
I'd probably use one of these if I need one eventually.
