Hi - I have a Panda 2012 and the boot lock mechanism has stopped working so I can't open my boot! Are there any tricks to getting it moving again or will I need to take it to a garage? It's not remote locking, just central.
Also, my USB port seems to have stopped working - I have tried a couple of different leads but neither work and I miss my music in the car!!

Thanks!

Okay so I've looked at some other posts on the same USB topic and it seems its a Blue and Me port and there are lots of problems with it. People have recommended disconnecting the battery which can sometimes make it work again, but I have no idea how to do this!

Has it been really cold where you are? That could of caused the lock to fail.
Have you got an AUX input next to the usb as well?
See if you can have a good look in the usb hole, it could have some random bits inside it, blow it out with a can of air duster and see if that does anything.
If that doesn't work find someone mildly handy to disconnect your battery, leave it off for 30 minutes then re connect. It's very simple and doesn't require a mechanic to do, but just remember you will to have reset your clock when you turn it back on. (I only discovered how to do this by accident when I was bored and pushing random buttons one day)

Good luck!

I bought the car second hand last April and the boot lock went around last September - I've just not had time to address it until now! I'm going to try some WD40 later on. Thanks for your reply!

WD40 will leave a sticky residue which will attract dirt and make the problem worse; also the solvents in it may damage the wiring and any plastic trim.

Use a silicone spray or (better) electrical contact cleaner instead.

Thanks for this information, I'll try and find one of the above.
