From memory, identifying a Euro 6 car (mid 2015 onwards) means an ASR button or similar in front of the gearlever which means has hillholder, tyre pressure monitoring and the more linear power delivery and a higher 5th gear. 70mph should read 3000rpm as opposed to about 3200. If you could find a high mile proper historied Easy in white with the red interior and grey dash, that's what I'd have if I was you. While the problems with the '14 cars weren't that bad on the flat, the later cars were really nice, like a different car. To me anyway. Wouldn't feel shortchanged in the summer months certainly, my TA 4x4 pointless in many ways but I wouldn't be without it in ice, rain and snow and for overtaking.

URGENT!

Anyone else confirm a way of telling if a March 14 car is Euro 5 or 6 from a distance?

IIRC is there some sort of switch under the clutch that people mod??

Or anything obvious in the engine bay?

There should be a Euro 6 supplement in the cars paperwork as the full handbook won't be updated.
I've driven a 2016 1.2 and being fair drives very like my own, I removed the clutch switch, fitted iridium plugs and an oil catch though, mine is March 2014 on a 14 plate.
A remap though makes a difference I also had a run in a 64 plate 500 1.2 it felt very nice, 77 Bhp.

Looking on the logbook, our Euro6 2017 1.2 show 119 grams of CO2. Perhaps it's different for Euro5 1.2 models. Someone may be able to check.

Our 2011 Euro5 1.2 shows 113 grams CO2 mind you.......

Thanks chaps - finding it really hard to buy a car in time for Auto Italia! Planned a trip up north tomorrow for a 100HP - just found out it was a non-structural write off.

Another for sale on the classifieds here but he's ignored all contact and judging from his previous posts about a host of handling issues that's why it's for sale!

A third car on Gumtree and seller is as responsive as a comatose tortoise.

Yet another on Gumtree I asked the usual questions before travelling to view and got a reply I have never had in thirty years of buying and selling over thirty cars, to quote: "...it sounds like you want a new car for s/h money, i no longer wish to deal with you as its more hassle than i can be doing with...."

Fills you with confidence doesn't it?! :bang:  :D

If you want a well maintained car, you have to ask questions. Lot of people couldn't care less and anything they're selling should be avoided. Did you say you had a £5k budget, lived Devon way and wanted the third rear belt? I travelled 102 miles at some ungodly hour of the morning for my car. Came home, had lunch then went to work. A main dealer should stock straight cars and be prepared to email you pictures of the service book. If they won't find one that will.

No worries travelling to buy the right car, that's why I was all set for a ten hour round trip tomorrow! ;)
