Loving my Panda and driving it around. I have treated myself to a set of side strips to add to my super Panda. I am no expert, can you tell me how to add them to the car please?

Do I have to treat/wash the car before I add them?

Any tips please. Thanks

Definitely wash it! Then dry it.
Assumedly, the side strips will be the ones with a double sided sticky tape (usually 3M) for fixing? If so, It's also advisable to do it somewhere warm-ish - certainly not outside this time of year. That will help the glue on the tape bond to the paint.

You will need to clean down the 'cleaned' areas where they will be applied with alcohol wipes. This will remove any wax and other inhibitors. You usually seem to get one or two included with these kits, but honestly, you'll need more. The sort used for sterilising wounds, or even spectacle wipes are the same alcohol usually, or buy a bottle of isopropyl alcohol.

If you don't do this bit thoroughly, your prized side strips will fall off at some point Do it well, and they will stay put!:slayer:

You can warm the area and sticker back up with a hair dryer to help the glue.

Fillipe is right, you need the painted area spotlessly clean and free from anything the will effect the glue. (but not ruin the paint).

You can pick suitable paint preparation wipes up at Halfords for around £1.49

You can position the strips in the right place and use strips of masking tape along the top to hold it like a hinge, then just swing it up, peel the backing off, then swing it down back in the same position.
