My 2013 4x4 multijet is immaculate and fully loaded with allthe accessories, its done 106k miles but has a FSH with 9 stamps in the book.
I was thinking of trading it in so called Fiat. A new one is£16,500 and mine is only worth £2,800 after 4 years apparently???????????

It's due to the well above mileage. They will most likely find it difficult to sell as you like me and many others will rather go for a low mileage car or expect a big discount.
A couple of friends of mine have 200k five year old cars and both intend to keep them till they stop. I see their thinking, they are both properly serviced and repaired when needed. Incidentally they both work for the same employer, travel the full UK and get a car allowance, with fuel paid for.

Average mileage is 12 k, your car is being priced at being 8+ years old, which puts it in the upper end of the price bracket, and nobody pays 16.5 K for a new one you can expect to discount it by 2.5 - 3K

The answer as Trevor said, is if you do high mileage’s and you are paying for it, is to keep it till it becomes economically unrepairable.

Shocking though... I'll hang on to it I think and go for record mileage. It still looks like a 10k mile car.
Incidentally, my commute is now only 50 miles a day on a 30-40mph road with few stops. If I coast down the hills and try not to brake or accelerate hard I can get over 80mpg overall, that's amazing!

There are a couple of panda 4x4 diesel of the same year selling around £4500 on autotrader. However they have 80k miles and have been on the website for a bit of time.I think if you were to sell yours privately you may get around £3500. At the end of the day, your depreciation was only 12p per mile...

I guess I’m over sensitive, never delt with depreciation before. I’ve run aircooled vw’s for years and always sold at a profit?
Got to say the 4x4 is a great little car though and probably about bottomed out on price so I’ll hang on to it. ?

As a comparison, found you 2 year old MJ 4x4 for £10k or 2.5 year old one for £7700. Cheaper one done 44k.
