Today i got a issue with start&Stop. (not that it ever has worked)
The car told me, Start&Stop was disengage and no longer available.
Yellow warming lights on the dash: engine and triangle, led Start&stop button on, i could not turn it on anymore, not available.
I never have turned off Start&Stop in my life, but now it did by it's self.
Called the dealer about it, and they told to come over so they can connect it to the computer to see what's wrong. (i will do that tomorrow)
I had things to do and places to be, so i had turn off and start the car a few time's, doing those things.
For some reason the problem solved itself and Start&Stop turned itself on again.
Did not test it, if it really works again, butt it switched on again by it's self.
I also been able to turn it off and on by myself again.
Warning lights are gone for the time being.
Did also have a battery test done and it was perfect.
I will have a look if i can test it, if it is really working or only has switch on, but does not work.
Will go to the dealer anyway and connect it with the computer, maybe there is a "failure log" in the system that will tell something.

Stop start unavailable message is usually symptomatic of a different problem, I'd suspect the battery despite it testing ok. Maybe try disconnecting battery for a while anyway, it'll take a few miles for SS to relearn when you reconnect

My S/s being doing it for a couple of months now..Sometimes with triangle and other times no triangle.
S/S NEVER WORKED.Rest of the car fine so not really bothered...

I really don't understand why anyone want to use that stupid system. It's only been put on the car so they can avoid the higher tax rates. First thing I turned off when I bought and got in the car. Also firts thing I check after a service if it's actually still turned off(mechanics sometimes engage it again).
Nowadays only two cars seem to get threw a traffic light after it turns green after all the start after stooping is done... :yuck:

I agree that S&S can be a pain under some circumstances, especially in a jam where the traffic inches forward every minute or two - when it's easy enough to switch it off. However, I think it does have its uses and I doubt that it causes any delays - many drivers are so pathetically unable to get under way promptly even if their engine has kept running and they seem to wait till the car immediately in front has moved off before selecting a gear, checking their mirror, releasing their handbrake, scratching their backside, ......

I've had a few nasty experiences when the SS has cut in, just as I was about to move off. Not great when you're trying to scoot across a busy road junction - and no doubt very aggravating for those waiting behind. Mine now stays turned off.

So the verdict is out: the start&Stop issue is because of a Oil Temp Sensor error, the stored error has been deleted.
For some reason it shows variations in oil temp between 39º and 88º.
In the best case scenario i need a new oil temp sensor, in the worse case scenario i need a new MultiAir module, if the errors return.

I'm not really using it, but i leave it on because i hate the yellow LED on the button more when you turn it off.

a follow-up:

The oil temp sensor problem can have 2 reasons:

1) just a not properly working oil temp sensor.
2) a not properly working MultiAir module, creating the oil temp sensor error.

What to do about it :

1) Replace the oil temp sensor with a new one and hope the problem is solved, cost ± € 200,-
2) In case the oil temp sensor is not at fold and the error returns, replace the MultiAir Modul, cost ± € 1000,-

So in the best case scenario it wil cost ± € 200,- and in the worst case scenario it will cost ± € 1200,-

Option 3 : Do nothing and trade the car in.

Option 3 as you have said to me I think. Am looking forward to my new 1.2 Lounge. :D

Hi is the panda driving ok ? If so why trade..just drive it .☺

The Start&Stop and Oil Temp Sensor issues could announcing the brake down of the "MultiAir Module" and a € 1.000,- repair.
The MultiAir module is known and common as a week point of the TwinAir engine.
When the issue occur Idle goes out of wak.
Not plan to do a € 200,- + repair to the car and not knowing the problem will be solved or not, and then still have to do another € 1.000,- repair, and hope the problem will be solved then.
The chief Mechanic can not tell for certain if it is only the oil temp sensor that give the error, based on his experience of failing MultiAir modeles on TwinAir engines.
I can gamble on replacing the Oil Temp Sensor for € 200,- and hope the problem is solved, because i will not replace the "MultiAir Module" for € 1.000,-
So in that case i waste € 200,-
I also can drive on till it brakes down, and it will cost me a lot of money to repair.
Trading the car in mean i solved the problem the easy way.

And if you do trade the car you won't loose any money? I would wait and drive around with the system turned off and wait if any new errors will occur. Might be just a one time thing.
How many km's has your twin air done uptill now?

The error was wipe Friday afternoon, and was back the minute i start the car Saturday morning, and it comes and goes when it pleases.
The problem with the MultiAir Module is that internal contacts brake and all kind of failures and errors will occur.

The TwinAir has done exactly 34900 Km at this point.

Damn, that realy sucks. Not many km's at all. Friend of mine had a new uni air unit fitted after he had problems of power loss at high speed. Dealer took a long time to find what it was and first replaced the coils and after that didn't work flush the engine and uni air unit. All for nothing and finally replaced the uni air unit completely wich at first did 't run correctly after the replacement but after a software reset/update all was well. Very dodgy story and ended up with a big bill(even after Fiat gave 50% of on the uni air unit) but now runs perfect again. Sad thing is I'm not really convinced at what the real problem was.
I don't like these stories and also feel the technicians aren't sure where the problems are. Somehow the diagnostic system isn't very helpfull to make a clear assesment of the problem.
Mine is at 37000km now and hasn't missed a beat so I hope it will stay this way.

You are making the right decision as secondhand Pandas more expensive than here in the UK. Maybe have oil change too Friday (Selenia 0w 30), parts will have 12 month warranty. Hope car is fixed soon. (y)

Surely there are loads of write offs kicking around, it's Italy for goodness sake, my Italian neighbor writes his car off regularly... mind you he was a boy when they came over so his driving style is probably the worst of two worlds, and he drives VW's with the Italian flag on them.
Anyway point is, surely you don't need to fit a new dealer one.
