Is it a Renault unit? How does it compare to the VW triple?

Hi.
I take it that's a used one? The gold colour is oil deposits if I'm not mistaken. Is the deposit very slightly sticky or can you rub it off with a finger easily down to bright metal?

No problem.
Just wondered if the deposits were varnish, products of combustion which vary on the use of the engine and oil quality and length of use. I'm wondering if it is varnish if very narrow oilways are getting restricted.

Compare to the VW 3 cylinder, this Nissan 3 cylinder sounds better, it feels better, les vibrations, it feels much smoother to.

Having had 3 cars with the VW triple in our household - I would agree - it's not the smoothest unit around. It also bogs down really badly sometimes when pulling away. I'd quite like to try the turbo version though. One thing I do like about it is it's very frugal and feels unburstable.

Oh Dear
So the garage has misdiagnosed the problem...... You should get a refund on the unnecessary work already done.
Good luck.

Still 4 months warranty on the car, so if the Problems not have been solved by then, i will trade the Panda in, not planing to have a troubled car after warranty ends.

Smart thinking. Is it just the start stop? How is your fuel economy now?
