Hi.
I'm going to get some quotes for a cat back exhaust in stainless steel. I don't want a raucous sound but just long life.
Two questions, the original pipe post cat has a dent which is correct, will a normal undented pipe effect running?
Would a slightly less restricted flow alter power output?
Mine is a 1.2 in Euro 6 tune

I had a standard 1.2 FIRE tuned and with a K&N panel filter.
I went from 65 hp (should have been 69 hp) and 107 Nm, to real 75 hp and 123 Nm.
Most restrictive is the Catalytic Converter and maybe the silencer.(if it's a reflection silencer)
Change the CC to lower Cell number like 200 and you could find 10-15 hp in combination with the exhaust and remap.
You could end up with close to 90 hp. :D

Read this before. http://www.catalyticconverter.org/news/news_page.cfm?Key=catalytic_converter-&News=89

I know a couple of tuners that say the exhaust is more restrictive than any catalytic converter.
Hi.
I'm not looking for more BHP, a little more torque at lower revs would be useful but not the reason for going stainless. What I'm asking is simply, is the restrictive "dent" in the post cat pipe there for a reason.... namely to fine tune the whole system or for some other reason? A free flowing system can improve top end power with occasionally a reduction in low down torque. The Euro 6 Panda would suffer if this is the case and plus the fact who has their engines running 6500 rpm around town?

Had a nice stainless exhaust fitted to my 1.2 500 a couple of years ago. It was not a performance one but it did make a big difference to the feel of the car pulling off and accelerating particularly in the mid rev range.

I had it custom made at ETS here in Derby.
They built it straight onto the car to get the size and shape right (no knocking against sub frames etc.)
They had the car for a day to do it and only charged £250.

Although I wanted a nice crisp sound I asked them to keep it quite which they did - actually quieter than the original at speed and a nice little twin shotgun tail pipe.

It has a long narrow silencer box that is tucked up under the centre of the car so no visible silencer box at the back.
