I have recently traded in an 09 Panda for a second hand 2013 Panda lounge. The brakes on the new car are very sensitive, they go from nothing to emergency stop with very little progression. The dealer tells me this is not uncommon with Pandas and 500s, and has not offered any solution. Does anyone have a fix?

You dealer sounds like the usual can't be bothered type, but where brakes are concerned that's criminal, no it's not normal, wife has a few of friends who drive pops and 500's they don't have this problem, go make a fuss.

My brother in law had a Lancia Monte Carlo, it did have that problem, it was either off or on with nothing in between, eventually the factory solution was to remove the servo, slowing down was the best it could do after that.

Funnily enough...........

Having picked up the 2017 hire car Panda in Spain, the first thing I noticed was the much sharper brakes that on our 2011 1.2 model. I got used to them after 1000 miles and one week. When we got back to the airport and picked up our 1.2 I almost drove into stuff as the brakes felt unassisted.

To be honest you get a similar sensation with our 100HP versus the 1.2.

You'll get used to it.

Hello and welcome .

Read this thread.

On mine there was no evidence of any brake servicing, as a result new discs and pads at under 20,000 miles, my brakes were very powerful though. It's important that the area the pads should slide in is not pitted and properly lubricated in copper grease. Since the new parts my brakes are just as powerful but far more progressive, a good result for me.
