Took fronts off to do a inspection but still dont no what this cap is for..advice wanted thanks..

It's meant to be right where it is.
It is a clutch damper , in the clutch pipe.

People are probably confused because I have never ever heard of one fitted to a petrol engined car.
Anyone else out there seen on on petrol car?

My understanding of function is to stop clutch pedal vibration when releasing the clutch pedal.

Totally Different to damper springs fitted in the clutch plate.

Hopefully someone else will post if ever seen on petrol before.

On the diesels Prior to the part you have posted pic of the pipe was coiled a few times in approx ౩ inch diameter to attempt achieve same effects.

No matter what it is, it certainly doesn't look good, it's in line of getting damaged by road debris and the pipes could crack due to vibration. I'd be looking again to see if has come unclipped from something higher up.
