I'm posting this to continue the thread entitled 'Fuel filler flap - Plastic or metal?' because the topic moved on and should really have it's own thread. The original, for reference, is here: https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-iii/446145-fuel-filler-flap-plastic-metal.html
Right believe it or not, I'm sat sitting here holding one gen-u-wine made in Italy, Fiat part 403/C, Sweet Dreams Turquoise touch up stick. On holding it up to the car, it is very clearly the Turquoise and the correct colour, not deep blue. So, contrary to rumour put about by some dealers, they do actually exist. That said, there's no guarantee you will be able to get one. I say that because mine was not ordered in by the dealer concerned, they just happened to have (at least) one hanging around in their parts archive. You see, even on my dealer's parts computer they were not able to find this part, they kept getting the blue that people report here. In fact, from what I have read elsewhere the colour 403 is indeed a deep blue whereas the 403/C is the Turquoise. I don't think they can order this stuff anymore, certainly Fiat no longer produce cars in this colour. Furthermore, I note the date of production on my stick is 13/02/2012 which leads me to believe Fiat knocked out a batch of Turquoise sticks when they produced these cars and that was it, no more were produced. I may be wrong, but that would explain the difficulty in even getting anyone to admit to its existence.
The really annoying and unnecessary Fiat manoeuvre here, though, has been to apparently wipe the reference from their colour database so that even third parties can't get the formula to mix up a batch. This is unusual, and I suspect a mistake, so if anyone has a contact and knows a way to get Fiat to sort this mess out (perhaps you work at a dealership?) please do. I dread the day I ask someone to repair some damage and they spray it deep blue!
Your options, then, are to:
1) Go to a seller who has the kit to actually analyse the paint on your car (rather than doing a computer look-up) and mix up a batch.
2) Go to one of the few retailers online who have this stuff on file (probably from analysing some at some point) such as the reportedly decent: http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...-repair-brush-%2F290813061985%23ht_1171wt_904
3) Find a dealer with some (very) old stock of the original run of genuine Fiat Sweet Dreams Turquoise (Turchese Sognante, 403/C) touch up. I can't promise they'll have any more left in the stock room, but you can try my dealer :worship: who is SGM Fiat in Southampton. It cost me £20.89 including VAT. They do claim 'Massive parts stock on site and overnight delivery for that unusual out of stock item' and I can't fault them there, but don't expect them to be able to order any more Turquoise in (though you can always ask and see what happens): http://www.sgmfiat.co.uk/servicing-parts.htm
Good Luck, and if you work at a dealership and are reading this, please contact your man at Fiat and get him to add the formula for 403/C back on their published colour reference so that third parties, and even their own Fiat body shops, have at fighting chance of mixing this stuff up. Once small clerical error made in the past, but no-one has ever got around to correcting it and it is a problem for your customers.
