Ok, so the dealer helpfully stuck his adverts all over my rear window elements. And that's not the normal plastic non-sticky version but one smothered in what seems like superglue. Even taking it off carefully, there was no way to avoid the protective brown laquer/varnish from being stripped from the elements where the sticker had been welded. Now the bright copper element is exposed (though it works fine, for now...).

So, I see a few posts on forums around the net where people say they revarnish or reapply the brown protective laquer whenever this happens. Fine, but not one such post links to an appropriate product. Can you help before the delicate element gets damaged in some way?

Let me be clear, I am NOT looking for conductive paint to fix a broken element (yet...). Just the protective varnish in the correct brown colour for the Panda.

Thanks experts.

UPDATE: I'm thinking this stuff might be OK? What do you think? I don't want to damage things and/or make a mess.

You used to be able to get a Holts product to do minor repairs. I have seen something on eBay within the last 12 months but cannot remember where. Keep searching.

If the dealer put a sticker on the HRW you should insist they deal with the issue.

Anyone who wants their advertising in my car can PAY for the privilege. What are these bozos thinking when they do this I wonder. After a few months these stickers are very hard to remove.

If doing any more start at one end and get the edge up and pull the sticker back on its self this allows you to remove it in the most controlled manner with the least chance of damaging the HRW.
