Had my panda cross for over a year. But the seat is killing me. On long drives back aches and numb bum are the usual result.Any one else think cross seats are not up for the job ? Never had this problem with other cars ive owned .

Coming up to two years for my Cross now, one of the first. No issues at all with seat comfort and I have done some really long distance drives, 500 miles plus. However plenty of people do have issues, it's plain I am just lucky. I am sure forumistas will post shortly on the various methods of improving things, nowt worse than an uncomfortable drivers seat, had this in other cars, I feel your pain[emoji856]

Thanks m8 im just getting old i guess ( thats what my kids tell me.)

I have a 4x4, and have the same issue. Some forumites have found a solution by adding about an inch of washers to the front bolts under the seat giving the bottom a slight "bucket", which definitely adds to the comfort. As far as lumbar support goes, I've been using one of those nylon net and stiff wire supports and it has helped a great deal.

I'm one of the "Cross seats are cr@p" brigade - and the problem with the seat design is compounded by the fact that the steering wheel doesn't adjust for reach, the recline adjustment is too crude, and there's insufficient space for your left foot without twisting it at an unnatural angle. It's not hard to get this kind of stuff right, but Fiat doesn't seem to know how.

Are they any better/worse than the seats in other small Fiats?

Both my Panda & 500 have front seats which are good for about 2 hours; longer than that, and my back starts to complain. Not much to pick between them tbh.

The sports seats in my 500 TA+ were excellent.

I also found the 500S seats comfortable.

The whole seating position is different on the Panda, I found a cushion near the base of the back makes it better - I use one on longer trips.

I need a small lumber suport cushion occasionally, but only on 4hr+ drives. Made it to the Alps and back last year with minimal issues.

I think the (85 Lounge) are not the worst/best seats i have had in a car, but i reckon they are mid-range seats.
I'm 6.2 and can live with them on short and up to 800 Km drives.
Don't know how they will do on longer then 800 km (400 either way on 1 day) drives, not yet drove that far. :D

You obviously never tried an Austin A40 or a Citroen BX!!! I ended up putting the seats from a BX GTI into my car. I had a trimmer remove and fit my original seat cbvers to them so the car was not devalued. You might consider trying this with the seats from a Panda 100HP??

100HP is a different model (mk3) so they are unlikely to be a straight swap, I'd have thought. And in any event, just swapping the seats won't cure the lack of adjustment on the steering wheel, or the poor pedal/footrest positioning.

I agree. The seats in my 85 lounge are pretty good. Better than my previous car (Citigo) which had my back aching within 30 minutes of driving. The Panda's seats are much more supportive.
