My fuel cut off switch seems to have gone on my Fiat Panda Eleganza. Fuel Cut off flashed on dashboard before the engine failed, said see handbook. Roadside assistance seemed to get some life into the engine when the switch was held in place, however now there is nothing.

The switch itself is covered in rubber making it hard to actually get too, has anyone experienced this before? I was driving on the motorway when it happened..

The issue may be deeper than just the switch. Might be an injector or fuel pump failure as well since that would likely trigger the same dash warning. While I'm not dismissing the idea of a switch failure, it's also quite rare compared to other fuel issues.
