Philips Whitevision Bulbs 👍

Just a quick one for you guys and girls. First headlight bulb went today. Quite pleased they lasted this long

As with the last panda I swapped out both fronts with Philips Whitevision's. Just under 14 on Amazon, and let there be light 😄

So if you ever need some more bulbs, and can't stand the ones from halfords or some of the osram's that last as long as it takes to fit them, try these for size. I've been using them since 2012 and am always pleased with. Just a quick recommendation for you all.

Now I need to find some for the DRL'S that are not so yellow that they look like indicators, as you can see by the pics, so if anyone knows of any P21 bulbs with a bluer or white light, please let me know.

Re: Philips Whitevision Bulbs 👍

Hi Alexiloki,

When I got my Panda 4x4 in November last year, I changed the headlamp bulbs and DRL's straight away.

The DRL's I got from HIDs Direct. Check out LED Bulbs at the top, scroll down to LED DRL Bulbs then take a look (I can't paste a URL at the moment as under 5 posts).

I can't remember if it was the 380 or the 382 DRL's that are required, (think the 382, but cant find the paperwork at the moment to confirm).

They make such a difference and look so much better, even with the old Halfords 50% brighter bulbs I'd fitted too, though originally bought for a Yaris I had from 2007 and couldn't fit as bad design made it impossible to fit without taking the car apart.

I love how easy it is to change bulbs in the Panda.

When the Halfords ones go, I'm looking for a brighter one to fit so will take a look at your suggestion.

Most DRL's LED's do not work like they should be, this because of CANBUS.

Deffo worth a go. I used to use Osram Night breakers but they last about 30 seconds it feels like. These last me on average 12 months and have about 60% more light output than originals, plus it's a nice crisp white light they throw out, rather than yellow. Good stuff

Hi,

Paperwork found - I bought 380 with CANBUS.

Re: Philips Whitevision Bulbs 👍

I've been hunting for WhiteVision bulbs in Turkey, and it seems they were never (and still aren't) imported. This being the case, it has come down to Philips Xtreme-Vision (which I think adds that awful blue color (high Kelvin temperature), and Osram Nightbreaker (which has horrible reviews for longevity but slightly better performance than the Xtreme-Visions). Any recommendations for someone limited to these choices?

I used the Night breakers and Nightbreaker Plus, both of which have depressingly short lifespans if I'm honest. Philips all the way for me

Ive used these on my previous car and found them bright, long lasting and canbus compatible :-)

on a side note I tend to fit a 50w/4300k/5000k HID kit to whatever car / Motorcycle I've got as I find the Light much better than normal bulbs be it Nightbreakers or whatever, just my own personal preference and in no way dissing any others.

Re: Philips Whitevision Bulbs 👍

At the end of the day, any filament bulb can only be made brighter by running at a higher temperature, with the corresponding adverse effect on lifespan. I've used a few brighter bulbs in the past, but always get peed off changing them every five minutes.

My wife's wretched Volvo V50 gets through headlamp bulbs like there's no tomorrow, because the wretched dipped beam is on all the time, and she always insists on buying "brighter" bulbs. Costs a small fortune every few months.

Which is one reason I stick with the OEM bulbs.

66,000 miles & 6yrs with the Panda & haven't had to change any yet .
