Love the Kung fu panda... Errr Panda!

Someone near where I used to live had an Italia 90 football panda I remember the hubcaps got stolen.
I don't think we got a convertible version in the uk

Pah, that's just generic bought in content, the scourge of proper journalism.

Anyone else think that 1998 Rover looks way better than most Rovers? I mean, it's actually quite a nice looking car. Colour me amazed.

So, to continue the theme, what other disastrous special editions can we think of?

A pet hate of mine (as a former DS3 owner) is the vomit-inducing Orla Kiely DS3.

Another curiosity, from the time when my cars had to double up as daddy-wagons, was the Peugeot 806 Eden Park - complete with head-rests in the shape of rugby balls! (Apart from that oddity, it was a great machine, and probably a better bet than the Espace that I eventually bought, which achieved near-legendary status among friends and family as "the bastard Renault from Hell")

Apart from those people who bought one and are in denial, you are the only one who likes the look.

Our Mini Cooper is a 2012 London Olympic edition, which while it was a very high spec car, it did have the Olympic logo on the roof which we had removed by the mini dealership before we picked it up, you'll now be hard pressed to find any of the 2012 cars they made that still have the roof logo as it was so ugly!

Poor Lisa Simpson.

Never noticed one of those minis..despite being 1/2 mile from the mini factory whilst watching the torch relay

I'd forgotten all about the Polo Harlequin until I just read this thread earlier this morning, then lo and behold I was just making an afternoon brew and gazing out of the office window and one drove by

I wanted one when they came out, but in my defence I was about 13 at the time.

Me too!!!!!

It looks flippin' ACE!!!

You probably don't get may Torygraph readers driving Pandas, which I'm actually quite pleased about.

I could actually be described as being quite smug about it, but I'm not a Torygraph reader, so I genetically find that quite hard to do.

This one looks like a hoot: [ame]https://youtu.be/E1BZS4VeaFU[/ame]

Tally ho!

Love the Polo Harlequin. When my wife picked up a few dents in her pistachio (kermit) green Polo, I wanted to get some replacement doors in different colours, just to tone the green down a bit, but she wouldn't let me. Boo.

I sometimes see a Golf Harlequin around Norfolk. Not sure whether it's one of those that were officially produced by VW (mainly for the US/Canada market, but we get lots of weird & wonderful imported cars from the States around here because of the US air bases) or a 'Normal-for-Norfolk' DIY version.

Probably the latter.

It used to be around the UEA a lot, I'm it was a UK car I believe a uk dealer bought a golf in every colour and swapped the panels about to meet demand for a harlequin golf

Typical "filler" content - more like something from an Internet feed than a paper claiming "quality-read" status! But then I would argue that with one of the "15 Worst Special Editions" on my drive...! If you took to heart all you read, we'd all be driving silver/grey/black Audi A3s and be having zero fun..

Am I the only one who thinks the Citroen C3 Pluriel looks way better in Charleston colours?! I remember the VW Polo Harlequin well, there were loads where I lived - must say, it was a step too far for my tastes, but someone liked them. Also clearly remember the Italia 90 Pandas, in fact as I recall, that and Mexico 86 were probably the most "merchandised" world cups I can remember!

Does anyone remember the Austin Allegro Equipe?...... If not I dare you to Google it...... And for the record I do occasionally read the telegraph tyvm!

Arghhh...my eyes! They burn!

My great aunt had an Allegro. We drove round in it when I was a kid. She was half blind and more than half deaf. Riding over a grassed roundabout was a particular highlight. ;)

Slightly off topic but a friend of mine owned an Austin Allegro for a while. It wasn’t the Equipe model though. He replaced a door from a scrapper and “resprayed” it. Trouble was he wasn’t very good with a spray gun, painted the door the wrong way up and the runs in the resulting finish went from the bottom upwards but made for an interesting topic of conversation.

I read the Telegraph on a Saturday where they do a good motoring insert.
