General What did you do with your Panda today?

Drove to work as usual and planned tomorrow's day off with "Totoro".
It clocks one year with more than 32.300 miles.

Towed trailer to Manchester and back. Took a couple of tons of rubbish from house project to the tip and returned to Norfolk with trailer load of spare sand and gravel and a ship load of tools. Nice fast running. More mayo in the engine... It doesn't affect how well the car goes though. Its a very effective tow car with ample power to handle quite heavy loads. 37.8 mpg I suppose with the drag and weight for the trailer one should expect it to use less fuel than solo driving........ I cannot make out how the engine is mapped at all. Its consistently 35-37mpg when driven slower and lighter loaded. However mad it is I love driving the thing.

Put the Panda back on 16" steel with wheel covers, much better drive then on 17" LM's. ;)
And a weigh reduction of 2.5+ Kg per wheel. :D

Gradually getting back to some of my hobbies after my darling wife passed away in January so did a 160 mile round trip today to pick up some vintage TV sets along with my mate from Ayr. Fair old weight in the Panda on the return journey, did 51mpg and that was doing 70-75mph and with a headwind on the outward journey.

Please Panda Nut, just remind me what model and engine you have. Thanks

Its a 2017 Twinair 0.9 4x4. The slime I moan about under the cam cover and oil cap, varies in quantity from day to day. I think I just about believe its OK, but am changing so I can have the max possible extended warranty for my peace of mind. Just turned 18K miles today and its running as sweet as a nut. I am nervous a new one might not be as good. The only gripe I have really is that Fiat said it would do 65mpg and nothing on this earth would get that out of it. Expectations now reset and cheating mpg figures replaced with a realistic figure, I am still much looking forward to another new one. It SHOULD, be the last car I ever buy. My intention will be a lease on an electric model next time. Tyres are still like new, brakes look unworn and the whole car is still looking good.

Today Panda T was towing the mower round the village. He gets into the allotments and on the Green as well as in the cemetery where he can squeeze in and leave no marks. Its not much justification for the 4x4, so when Noop gets here from Italy he and I are going straight back there for a ferret around in the Alps and Dolomites. Actually it might be an undercover trip to get some Italian Panda accessories on the not very QT.

Currently sitting in the observation booth at my local MOT station, like an anxious father, while my Wee Yellow Beastie gets poked and prodded. That year went stupidly fast...

Update: she passed with flying colours (y) The only advisory was worn rear pads (half-worn, he reckoned), and evidence of binding on the rear brakes (which I was already aware of, on account of the banshee wailing from the rear end lately).

So, that's 4 years, 43k miles, and so far nothing's broken or fallen off. The only non-service costs have been 4 new tyres at just under 40k miles. Apart from the squeaky rear brakes (my job for today), and a squeaky front tweeter (cured with a piece of cardboard), the only fault so far is the wretched key fob, which only works when it wants to. A minisculely small irritation, all things considered.

Panda T was hauling wood, just local which is just as well as I suspect we had a tad more than 400kgs on board. It certainly doesn't complain about a load and manages to move off without leaving any marks or ruts. I am going to miss Panda T. He looks so grown up in dark blue. Tomorrow I should remove the tow bar for transfer to Noop. Someone is going to get a good buy when they purchase this one.

Hi pandanut the 595 runs on 17s which do make it crash over bumps I test drove this then went in the back while my partner test drove, this runs on 16s and on two long city test drives seemed much better than my lowered loud exhaust mr2.
Sb1500 seemed quite practical and smooth compared to my slammed mr2 and at least it has a boot and rear seats, luxuries I've not had for a while, with only 2 rear boxes behind seats for storage in the mr2
