I'm looking for an interior reading light with switch for passenger if there is one.

I don't see any on the internet or ebay, I suppose there is no such thing for Panda?

Is there any chance you could drive one from the USB socket, if you're not using it for an iPod or similar? There are numerous USB lamps of all sorts from a quid or so upwards.

Hmm, I have a 12v adapter with 3 USB sockets - I will look them up.

I may be wrong but I read that the interior light is the same as Punto MK2? They have the dual lights.

On my 4x4 Panda, the interior light has two bulbs and two 'bullseye' lenses. When you open the doors they both come on, but you can switch each separately: to provide reading light for passenger that doesn't dazzle the driver, and to illuminate the driver's side but not the passenger. Is this not what they all have?

It has the downside as well of being very directional, which means it sends no light at all into the back of the car, which can be a pain when opening the back door and looking for coats etc on the back seat.

This photo is of the similar-looking light when fitted in a Fiat 500: the grille in the centre is the microphone used by the Blue&Me/bluetooth phone system

Fortunately my days of ferrying little 'uns around are over (until the grandchildren arrive!) but I had a potentially very embarrassing experience the other day when trying to help my 86-year-old mother-in-law put her seat belt on in the dark while seated in the back.

This makes me wonder how hard it could be to remove the headliner, cut a hole for a matching set of lights for the rear, draw power from the front and hide it all under the headliner again. Something to consider a year from now once mine is out of warranty.
