Are there any specific Fiat mudguards for the new 4x4/Cross? I don't recall seeing any in the accessory brochure, has anyone fitted any 3rd party ones?

Probably not the best for ground clearance if you're going off piste and hence why they're not available perhaps?

Our old one had them as standard though, and the cross is supposed to have more ground clearance I think.

The Cross has practically* same ground clearance as the current 4x4, and both have less than the previous model. Neither has as much as the Mk1 had.

The Cross has plenty of plastic protection on the side panels to deflect stones etc already, so not sure that flaps would be needed. And anyway, they're supposed to be muddy! That said, my 4x4, in the least appropriate colour for anything going off road (white) actually had a wash over the weekend, after a few miles along byways of North Herts. Prior to that it was mostly brown, which I think rather suited its chunky looks, but the windows and lights had become less effective!

*the ever-so-slightly taller tyres on the Cross add a few mm, but no mechanical changes from 'normal' 4x4.

Don't seem to wash my green Cross much, it doesn't ever look too mucky when in fact it really is. It got a wash of an entirely different kind on Sunday. Our walking group had a walk in Pateley bridge, got as far as Skipton and the texts/calls meant we were the only ones left. The Panda treated the numerous floods with utter contempt, I suppose having a raised air intake helps (even better on the diseasil). Even so it's not my favourite pastime driving through floods, a friend had a 156 GTA Sportwagen and hydro locked it in a very modest puddle indeed, £7k bill for a new Busso V6.

It's always telling in TV news reports, over confident 4X4's that have been drowned by owners who should have more sense.

Wonder if there is a snorkel for the 4X4??

Now that would be a great idea - something neat and subtle which raises wading depth a little, but not too much as the lightweight Panda would be washed away easily with even a modest current. It's not just pure depth of water that matters, but flow rate too - many people completely overlook that and focus purely on how deep it is.

Still want snow though (y)

There seem to be panda cross mud flaps available now. Has anyone tried them? Bought my cross as didn't think my mini wd hack the mud laden 3/4 mile lane to our nearest B road but boy does Bertie back end get filthy!
