Fiat Panda (2012) Twin air turbo Lounge trim

Ive seen a lot of threads about issues with the boot mechanism in fiats; mine wont unlock when the top button to unlock all doors is pressed, I have to press the bottom boot unlock button to be able to get in.

However along with this problem my number plate lights aren't working, at first I thought they had both gone, the dash told me this aswell, I changed them and nothing, checked the old bulbs and they where in full working order!

I read about the loom wire being an issue so I took off the back panel in the boot door and all of the wires look brand new; no tares or snags anywhere, no signs of any kind of damage at first sight.

I phoned the garage where I got it from (still in warrenty) and they where clueless and can only get it in next month!!! So i was wondering if anyone else had similar issues of these two problems occurring together, no other warnings appear on the dash, the number plate replacement warning light has now gone. Its clearly some kind of software issue, Im wondering if buying a diagnostics scanner and seeing if theres any codes that need clearing will do the job!

Did you resolved the issue? I have the same problem with my Fiat Panda 2007.

Considering this post is from 3 years ago, I'd say they probably did resolve the issue. Odds are, however, it seems like electricity isn't reaching the rear hatch. I'd check the fuse box first, and follow up by tracing the wiring.
