Hi,
I have a 2013 diesel pop. I have just changed my (diesel) fuel filter. Your fuel filter holder sounds to be like mine.
The filter was part number 0077366607 (and cost £56.16 - ouch!) Whilst I was at the dealers I gave them the registration and they provided me with aforementioned filter. I asked if they could show me the diagram from their system (to give me a clue - as I couldn't find any mention on line) and I got a A4 schematic of the filter in its housing.
It was easy enough to do
Clean everything. un-clip the electric socket (pushed the yellow tab down, slid widest part of grey plug to the right as far as it would go and then pulled it up and fastened it out of the way. Un-clipped the fuel hoses - pull the circular part up and push in the two tags underneath the cover and they slide off easily.
The fuel filter housing is held with two 10mm bolts (think they were 10mm) - there is a front protective cover that will also come off and then the filter and front cover can gently be inched out.
I must admit I managed without disconnecting the battery and am unsure if you should do that (I am not a mechanic!)
I fastened the filter housing in the vice and then undid the six torq bolts - they were not fastened very tight at all.
Then I gently worked the top off - didn't hit it or use anything to pry it open as didn't want to damage the mating surfaces.
As it opened some diesel did spill out - have a bowl under where you are working!
When the top came off the filter came out with it. The filter was securely fastened to the top half of the body. When I removed it i found two rubber 'O' rings on the central plastic past which held the filter securely. Again I didn't prise anything apart.
Replacement was easy, back together after ensuring the surfaces were clean and just all finger tight and a quick lock up - not excessive (but I'll bet tighter than before!)
Re-assembly was fiddly (got big hands!) but managed it. (I did put a clear pipe over the outlet and turned the ignition on to ensure fuel was flowing!) Then connected it up and she started beautifully.
Made me wonder what I had been afraid of!
