Hi guys.

Does anyone know the speaker size in the front and back doors of the panda? Is it 6,5" up front, and 5,25" (fullrange) in the back?

Also, is it low-level or digital output from the head unit?

take a look ...fiatdalys.lt/en/catalog/parts/555/21/20/1/33/0/0/CC1.2/CMBBZ/GSX/loudspeaker

Thanks. That's a good resource. It does seem to be 6,5" up front and 5,25" in the rear, but I couldn't tell other than looking at the picture.

Anyone changed their speakers, or looked at the back of the head unit?

If it's anything like the last model (and I'm 99% certain it is), then there's just the usual ISO connector with high level outputs to the speakers and little else. No RCA's for an external amp or anything like that. Having said that, the unit is probably a Blaupunkt and actually not half bad.

I went to the effort of upgrading the speakers in my previous model 4x4 and also the clarity was slightly better, there's a very good compromise setup built into the stock setup that is hard to improve upon without a fairly considerable investment. I had to then install an under-seat sub and this picked things up a little. But overall I wished I'd left alone. If you want to really improve things then by all means do a full ICE upgrade with components, but don't expect the convenience of steering wheel controls and the like. I will leave my current 4x4TA alone, although I might try popping that sub back under the seat, just in case!

The radio is actually marked as being made by Continental - yes, the tyre company! Recently I've been getting a rattle from somewhere in the dash, and took the radio out to look (didn't find the rattle!). Connectors are as previous car: white ISO plug with power etc, and two grey ones for speakers etc. All contacts in the plugs seem to be used for something. No apparent other inputs - but since I only use the radio, or my iPhone plugged into the USB, not a problem. Existing unit sounds pretty good to me...

Great - thanks for the info.

Think of the possibilities if Fiat would include a digital out (coax or optical). Endless possibilities!

By the way, as well as the main unit, there's a second part (shown in those diagrams and also on ePER) that provides teh Blue&Me system and the Aux/USB in. This also connects to the TomTom unit if the dash mount for that is specified. I think this hides on the floor behind the heater. Look at the prices shown in that link above - €1000 for the radio unit and €500 for the Blue and Me part!

Interesting. That may open the possibility to change the head unit, and still keep all the Blue&Me functionality..
