We picked up our new Panda Easy last Wednesday. We're happy with the car so far, but during the handover, it emerged that the car wasn't fitted with the space saver space saver spare wheel that I requested and paid for (it was listed on the original order form). The dealer was very apologetic and I didn't mind so much as he said he could get a spare wheel kit for us in a day or two (it still hasn't arrived, but nevermind for now).

At the time, he offered to get us a bunch of flowers by way of an apology. As there are a couple of accessories we want to buy for the car (the boot tidy and the pawprint pillar badges), I told him not to worry about the flowers but asked if he could offer a discount on the accessories instead. He came back to me later that day and said he could offer them to me at cost price, although he didn't have the exact figures to hand.

Yesterday he emailed to say the accessories would cost £50.41. While this is a bit cheaper than the usual retail price, It's more than I was expecting as the price to order them from Fiat directly is £56.83 posted. Given the hassle over the spare wheel, am I being unreasonable in querying the cost I've been quoted?

If they are cheapskates. a bunch of flowers from Tescos would have cost them around a fiver, so you're probably still ahead on the deal.

:D Well that's true! Given that they forgot the spare wheel, I expect the flowers wouldn't have materialised anyway!

I had a call from the dealer today to let me know that my accessories were available. I was out and about anyway, so I called in to pick them up. Ended up getting the badges and boot tidy for £48.91, which isn't too bad. The only problem was that they presented me with a black boot tidy when I'd ordered a red one :bang: They wouldn't let me have any more money off, so I felt I had no choice but to reject it and wait for them to get a red one in.

I'm still waiting on my spare wheel, mind. I'm glad I didn't spec a sun roof now! :D

You're right!

The colour of the tricolore is correct, BTW (it looks like the Irish flag in the photo). The camera on my phone struggles with the contrast between the badge and the Can Can Red paintwork
