hi i am thinking about buying a new panda with the 5 seat option, the 5th seat belt is mounted in the roof. i have searched for any photos showing the roof seat belt. But i have had no luck. Has anyone seen the roof seat belt and is it a neat job.
thanks up front to anyone with info

It's very neat and tidy and you aren't distracted by it all

The big question is why do they bother supplying Pandas without the fifth seatbelt. The option was fairly cheap and gives you an asymmetric split seat into the bargain.
I travel occasionally with my grandchildren in the back seat and the fifth seat is essential. At other times it is tucked tidily away and causes no problems. It also means I can have the child's seat in place and still flatten the other half of the seat to take larger items.

Is it possible to get a lap belt fitted?

Nope, not from Fiat, and for good reason as they're nasty deadly things :( (n)

Because its a small car which realistically only comfortable fits 4 adults.

Inaddition to this its then going to cost everyone £100 more on the price of a new Panda for something they may not ever need or use.

I agree that three large adults in the back would be uncomfortable. Doable but uncomfortable. There again not as uncomfortable as leaving someone behind to catch the bus.

But really it was not three adults that I was considering. I was thinking more about kids. My daughter and her two boys fit comfortably in the back.

It looks neat and works great, and with three grand kids a must. To stow it in the roof you have to disconnect the lower anchor point, by sticking a key or coin in the slot. The only criticism I have is if you don't stow it properly it the seat belt buckle rattles against the plastic moulding and drives you mad.
