Hi i am looking at purchasing the new panda cross 1.3 diesel

1) do people think the premium price is worth it?
2) looking at towing a trailer does anyone know of an 800kg braked trailer as i believe that is what it is limited to ( or 400g unbraked)

Many thanks in advance
Andy :)

the 4x4 diesel (so I'd assume the Cross is the same) can actaully tow 900kg - and has just been voted tow car of the year in the sub-£16,000 category by The Caravan Club http://www.fiatpress.co.uk/press/article/5350

The Cross adds a bit of extra off road ability (hill descent control, better approach angles), but unless you're really going well off the beaten track, offers little more than the 'normal' 4x4 diesel as a car on the road, and even off it...

thankyou i will be looking at towing quite a bit. i will be going off road also as i have 4 acres i camp on and grow willow. how do you find its performance in the motorway? i am downgrading from a 2.5l TD ford ranger. so anything i think would be less powerful. but i wouldnt want to shoot myself in the foot.

Looks cool tho :)

The Cross does look cool.
For cost saving reasons i am considering the trekking as there will be just a little offroading or rather, on grassing and it still has the high ride hight

Negative side:
Not 4x4
Doesn't look as good as the cross
only 75HP instead of 80HP for the cross

Positive:
Cheaper to buy
Cheaper tax
extra 10 MPG
Olive interior looks good

What are everyones thoughts?
is the Cross worth the 3k premium over the trekking?

The question I would be asking myself is 'Is the Cross worth £1,700 more than the 4x4'?

In my mind no, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go out and buy it.

In the meantime Trekking owners say that for most of the time the car can cope well with adverse conditions.

Buy on the privaledge scheme over three years and you save a packet over list price.

what is the privileged scheme?

A scheme ran by fiat for certain groups by which you can gain discount over listed prices... there is plenty on here talking about it; if you join one of the organisations you can save money and / or gain better interest rates.

OK so i am thinking Panda Cross 1.3 Diesel 80BHP
Tropicana Yellow
Heated Windscreen/ seats (only really wanted windscreen for early frosty starts)
Spare Wheel ( puncture kit just doesn't feel right)
Considering Tinted Windows

Never bought a brand new car before so thinking may as well go all out. just fighting with my conscience to spend that much money on a car. but i will be saving fuel on my current 25MPG vehicle
