Has any member either fitted or had experience with a towbar made by UMBRA RIMORCA? I looked up on the net and found that they make a towbar for the 2012+ Panda (part No.21040/C).The photos look impressive and the finish looks excellent, the price is about £100.I know it's a bit of a longshot but any information would be much appreciated before becoming committed. Thanks Alf

Yes I bought one. I've inspected the components, not yet fitted them. On first glance a quality item, comprehensive fitting instructions.

Thanks for your quick reply. It didn't take long to travel all that distance!! I agree with ,your comments ,from the photos that I've seen it does look good and it's great to have it confirmed by someone who's actually bought one.Hope the fitting goes well for you.By the way are you going to use a dedicated wiring loom or a bypass relay? Give me a shout when you've fitted it.Best regards Alf

I'll let you know - I meant to have it done by now (had the kit for a month now!) but work has been crazy.

I bought the dedicated wiring kit from Umbra Rimorchi, the 7 pin type. It is a UK made product, I'll dig out the name if you need it.

If I remember correctly, the bar fitting itself is easy. It's the wiring up that gets a bit long-winded. You have to drill a 25mm hole in the spare wheel well to let the wiring pass though and the wiring has to plug into the tail light harnesses each side at the taillights, and also leads down the left side of the car tot he fuse box, where it again has to be plugged in.

What I do like about the dedicated wiring kit is that it is all plug and play. Being a new car, I don't want to mess with its wiring just yet...

Thanks for your reply.I think that I shall follow the same route and go for the dedicated loom,my car still has 2 years warranty left on it (for what that is worth) It's early days yet I haven't fully convinced HID that we do need a tow bar, I haven't to got around to mentioning the purchasing of a small trailer tent, that may be the subject of some prolonged negotiations.Very nice to hear from you, best regards Alf.

Does it fit without modifying the bumper?

Funny you should ask... I was re-reading the fitting instructions this afternoon, in anticipation of doing the install in the next few days.

Yes, the fixed swan neck like mine needs a 30mm cut in the centre of the bumper bar, 35mm each side of centre.

The removable tow hitch types are different again, needing another cut along the bar lip to accommodate them.
