UFP Undisputed First PandaCross!!!

Its Defo worth the experiment of not resetting it. Let's see how far u get for free. When it does reset, fuel up and reset all the trips

It doesn't reset the mileage - it just disappears off the display after 1000k (I think it was, some odd amount of miles). (y) Didn't know how you reset it via the trip though, so you'd have to do that if you wanted to lose a few 100 miles - don't really see why you would, but each to their own. :)

Haha! No, nothing yet. I may give them a call tomorrow, so much for trying to be cool about it.

Has your dealer not been updating you? Ours rang each week with a status update (which was nothing to report for the first 8 weeks!).

I believe there is a fault in the Gucci production line Vern. This has badly effected the production of the bright yellow Cross, as the robots can't do any yellow ones (for Elf & Safety reasons) without their designer sunnies in place.

The dealer hasn't called us at all! Didn't really bother me until now. :(

I did call the service dept. when I was having trouble with Panto's tappets and wasn't impressed with them. They were trying to tell me that they may need shimming . If shimming didn't work they suggested I book it in with them . Not sure I want them servicing our Cross.

That's disappointing - when will the dealers sort themselves out?! (n) I sympathise - we (sadly) avoid the dealers unless anything's within the warranty period!

I had to call the dealer - no mention of what code it was just a hope that it would be end of december/early january!

I wonder if the robots have an aversion to orange as well as yellow?

BTW I saw an orange 4x4 locally and thought it was quite muted compared to the Alessi, I may have to get creative with some white wrap on the black bits....:p

The "H" vanished tonight at around 130 miles - didn't actually see it go as I was hooning along the Woodhead pass. My mileage therefore will be genuine as I never bothered zeroing.

One thing I did notice, more than one test report mentioned comedic levels of body roll and under steer at speed, I can only presume the Journo's responsible were either pissed or suffering from some inner ear infection. It ain't no Abarth but this Cross seems little compromised in the handling department and that from someone coming from a Vrs and before that a GTA on eibachs/FSD's with a Q2 diff neither of which pottered round bends. In short I am very impressed, I think Fiat have nailed it with the Cross.

Sounds like ur dealer doesnt know how to check the system for "Status Code", get him told. Say ur not asking when its going to arrive but "please inform me of my orders current status" Its simple for him to do. He sounds like a lazy git. Buying a brand new car should be exciting and fun. Knowing where it is in the build process is exciting. Why has HOPE got anything to do with ur car being just parts on a shelf waiting for the robots or or its built and sitting at the docks.
Anyhoo... What have u ordered? 4x4 or Cross?

.

Well I called the dealer today.

Our Cross is due to dock on English soil on Monday. One week getting through customs and being delivered to the garage, then a few more days being PDI'd and valeted and it should be ready to pick up. :)

So middle of December, just as they have said from day one. Can't argue with that.

Its still a great turn around time from fiat but its amazing to see how u ordered only 2 days after bogwoppit but your cross will be over 2 weeks behind his.
Bogwoppits only took 4 days from landing in the UK to being ready for pick up by him.
I think/hope yours & mines could be on the same boat! So ur currently status 35 yes?

If that's bobbing up and down on the sea then, yes.

I think it's a case of, 'under promise over supply' with my dealer so it could be here any day soon.

I think that was the approach my dealer took?

Make up your mind, are you a Red Panda or a Giant Panda?
