I am in the lakes at the moment, return home Monday morning. Just had a phone call from the dealer I will also be picking my Cross up at 3:30?

Now that has been quick!

The Number One Cross is so nearly here!
Amazing!
Monday will be 38 days from your ordering day! Unheard of, I'm sure.
WELL DONE FIAT!
I wonder, does this mean my Red Giant will be 10 days behind No.1?
Now I'm really excited.
Was No.1 available to get today or tomorrow? (But u chose Monday coz ur away).
This could mean the VmanC's Yellow Cross will be here within a day or two! 2Cool!

A big thanks to you, Bogwoppit, for your status updates. Your dealership has been on the ball.
Enjoy the Lakes but roll on Monday.

Pick it up tomorrow at 3ish, still in the lakes and have to get home and muck out the Furby before doing the business. Somewhat flustered, really didn't expect this to happen so fast. Told my insurers this morning (only renewed the VRS on Nov 3rd and have got a measly £14 back! Think I will be looking round for a new insurer?

Getting more jealous! Good luck guys.

Yours isn't that far behind ours. If yours only takes 38 days then you should be before Christmas.
Its just amazing that dealers are still saying 12weeks/90days. Early cross orders can't be compared to the time it takes for a fiat500 to get made or a panda.
I'm hopeful for the weekend of the 6thDec now although we are happy with 21stDec if there are any delays.

Did your insurer have trouble finding it on its list of fiat cars as the cross is so new? I think its ins group 10, which for a 0.9 is a bit steep.
You could have delayed the pick up day until you had got things sorted. I think I will play with quotes soon.
Enjoy tomorrow and remember to post a picture of Number1

Insurer (Axa) had no trouble at all finding the Cross, just surprised it's virtually as expensive to insure as a 180bhp vRS?

My insurance 'swinton' said no change from the 100hp & possibly cheaper when I renew. Good to shop around, but having seen the other side of insurance recently ie making a claim, cheap isn't always best.

Well I have it?

Too dark for piccies yet and I am just about to embark on phone pairing (Lumia 820 running 8.1) and Tom Tom fiddling. Very smooth ride home this is a very well suspended little car, also very impressed with the gearbox, best manual I have had in yonks. Back to work tomorrow? but I will post pics and more detailed impressions as soon as I can. I am very happy though, all seems to be in perfect order and build seems top notch.

Lovin' it. So glad fiat have turned around the first production of the new cross so efficiently & with such quality!
Shocked that the ride home was smooth as I've been looking for suitable fields with wee hills to test out my cross on the way home.
I just hoping mines gets here before the cold snap that's coming.
Is this a new tom tom bought with the car today? Does the plastic swivel stand come with the car or with the tom tom?
Did u get cross mats?
Keys?
I think you should make a video, take us all around the No1 Cross?
Enjoy your drive to pick up the wife tonight

Yep bought the TomTom (mount comes with it) when I picked the car up. Got 4x4 mats, seem good quality. You get one blade key and a boggo "traditional" key. I already have the red and luminescent key "shells" using the red one at the mo. Also fitted the Panda paw/Italian flag door pillar badges, look great, though a bit of an extravagance.

I have a mystery "graphic" looks like the letter H just above and slightly to the right of the petrol pump on the fuel readout. Only skimmed the not inconsiderable manual so far (one of 4!!!) and haven't shed any light on it yet.

Maybe it stands for Hyperdrive?

Anyone any ideas??

Where are the photos of Cross No1?
We all want to marvel at it.
Has the Mrs named it yet? BabyD, Right Wellie. CowPat?
It will be Cross Number1 to me.
A nice close up of the roof bars, show us this slot. Maybe there should be cap/cover over the hole.
Show us this H. Is it lit?
Its maybe for when a novice gets a cross stuck in the mud, it sends out a Help signal
Hurry get fuel!

H mode is delivery mode. Should have been reset at PDI.

Basically, a dealer can do up to 99km's of delivery/ road testing before zeroing the odo. Delivery miles then reads zero.

H will disappear at 100kms but sloppy by your dealer!

Ah, that makes sense, cheers Squadrone. Up to that point the dealer hadn't put a foot wrong.

Problem with piccies is that I am up at 4:40am and back home anything from 6 till 10pm and in between the cross lurks on the 14th floor of the office stacker, by the time a photo opportunity occurs in daylight it might not be the only Cross in the wild, I shall do my best though.

We don't mind flash photography :p

Nae excuses! You have a phone with a camera, with a flash/light, and some fancy settings! Learn to use them. We want Arty shots and, if possible, some oiled up women from ur office handling the roof bars

Is this H light still on or is it just visible coz u have studied the dash that closely?

I hate flash pics with a passion, never seems to do the subject matter justice I shall give it a go though.

Only post them if ur happy with the standard.
Use the night setting without flash or even try all the settings on ur phone until u get a cool but mean lookin' image. Hey, its not a soft, nambie pambie white Antarctica without heated seats and windscreen. It has to look like the No1 Cross should look like! We want pictures of some buttons and the folding table would be like fiat option porn. Only Hardcore if its in mud or snow while you use the heated seats while waving the space saver jack.
I don't know where you are in the uk but you must have a lit up town / city centre with Xmas lights. Go strike a pose with the cross.
We have an outdoor ice rink in Edinburgh for Xmas. I would love a wee picture of my RED Panda Cross on the ice. I'll hopefully get some beauty's around the town before the Xmas lights disappear. I best take as many pictures now before my red paint is more flakey that an xmas snow scene snow globe that's outside in the real snow, now that's flakey.
