hi, and welcome to FF,

I take it you've just got the fix'n go , can of sealant..??

AFAIK the latest panda is still on the traditional 4 x 98 mm FIAT bolt pattern,
best access to these wheels is from a Mk2 punto 2000 to 2004

don't get in a big knot about tyre sizes.. stand the punto wheel + tyre against your 15" ones, and make a comparison,

many 15" equipped cars seem to have a "space-saver" of a lesser circumference, ( full size wheel doesn't fit in boot's "wheel well") : - {

attend any FF meet ( from the events section.). and you can do a little measuring.. ; - ]

Charlie - Oxford _ I've a few 14" steel wheels "spare"

Hi how did you get on? - I've got the same issue (& Panda 2013 4x4 with 15" wheels) at the moment - did you end up with a suitable spacesaver without paying a fortune\/

I know there have been a few threads relating to space-saver spares, but I had a puncture last week and I thought I'd post a couple of things.

Firstly, I don't think my wheels have ever been taken off since they were put on in the factory, in 2012. I jacked the car up and removed the bolts, but the wheel was still tightly stuck on the hub. I had to repeatedly whack the rim (through a block of wood) then rotate the wheel and whack again, for several minutes. Even when it had started to loosen I still couldn't pull it off by hand and had to do some more whacking first.
I might add that I fitted a more stable jack before the whacking, because I was concerned that the car would topple over the tiny scissor jack.
I plan to remove all four wheels this weekend (weather permitting) to add some copper grease where the wheel is in contact with the hub.

Secondly, I can confirm that the Mk2 Punto 14" space saver wheel and tyre (135/80B14) fits the hub and fits in the Panda wheel well, with the Punto tool nest.
Also, the Punto jack is big enough for the Panda Lounge. I don't know about the 4X4 or Cross.

Hi folks

I have a 2015 Panda 1.2 popular and need to get a spacesaver tyre. I tend to go to far flung places with no garages nearby in the UK, mainly the far north of Scotland and outer hebrides. So I think I really need to get a spacesaver.

i am not too technical at all. This one on EBAY looks to be correct Could anyone advise if this would be suitable as a spacesaver for my Panda.

Will this also fit in the rear of the car in the spacesaver compartment

Any help much appreciated THANKS

I know you need a space saver to fit in the wheel well, but if you're that adventurous, might it be worth investigating putting a full sized wheel in there and raising the floor of the boot to match?

Got exactly the same problem this morning. Doubly irritating as I've got a puncture. Will have to wait till Tuesday now and ring the RAC as I'm going away and don't have another jack to use......

I don't know how much is "too much" for people to pay, but you can get a single Continental EcoContact 3 BSW 165/65 R14 79T with a Panda steel wheel for £81.20 delivered to your door in the UK from mytyres.co.uk.

That's just one example by the way. Whole range of different ones to choose from, just click on "Wheel and Tyre Packages" on the left hand side to begin with and fill in the details from there.

Short of taking off one of the wheels from my wife's car which has 175 X 60 R15s 2013 4x4 does anyone know if it fits in the spare wheel tray? I do realise it would stick up but circumference wise will it fit???
Grateful to hear from anyone that has already done this.

Hoping to get a spacesaver for my Panda 1.2 popular

Can anyone confirm if the Mk2 Punto 14" space saver wheel and tyre (135/80B14) is the right one to get

TIA

Just re read your post, I was unsure which Panda you had, I can now see its a lounge twin air

I don't think the punto jack will lift the car high enough. The jack for the 4x4 comes in a bag which lays in the boot. I reckon if they could have fitted the jack inside the spare wheel they would have like in your photo.
Happy to be proved wrong. :)

Just driven my 4x4 with the space saver on the osf....horrible......got to wait a week for a new tyre to be delivered

This makes me wonder whether a full size spare (per the message above), with a raised boot floor might be the ideal solution. Currently having my 14" (incorrect for 4x4) space-saver replaced with a gunk kit, but in the longer term would like a better solution. Raising the boot floor might provide that, allowing a full-size 15" spare to be carried with storage for fluo-vests, cleaning wipes, tall jack, maybe even the compressor and gunk, in boxed areas either side.

Food for thought....

Unfortunately with spacesavers if your puncture is on the front then you need to take a wheel off the rear and put that on the front, and the spacesaver on the rear.
Pain in the ass, but that's what my Subaru manual suggests.

Don't think I'll bother. I'll just avoid driving it far.....it was such a pain in the butt to get the wheel of in the first place I had to the RAC....

This is I think because the Space saver wont clear the front calipers of the Subaru. On the Panda, if you have 14" wheels and 14" spacesaver (or on the 4x4, 15" of each) you'll find that the space saver will fit the front wheels

Because the 4x4 has 15" wheels, a full size spare won't fit the spare wheel well in the boot (diameter, not height)... (in fact, not sure a full size 14inch fits either...)

****.. So Subaru have supplied me with a spacesaver unsuitable for purpose, why in hell couldn't they supply a wheel that fits either axle, Jesus can you imagine in the cold wet dark highlands faffing about doing your nut in swapping wheels about with one Jack, thank **** I have never had a puncture in it, certainly I'm past the age when it would be a minor inconvenience.
Unfortunately the spacesaver I bought off here is a 14 incher not the 15 that I need, but now, if I read the thread correctly, the 15 incher doesn't fit the wheel well either.
Wonder where we stand with the RAC or AA if we have a puncture and the spare taking up space is unfit for purpose.

In fact how does the four wheel drive system cope with the different diameter.

Thanks all for the info and pointers.
