15" space saver does fit the well - it's smaller diameter than standard road wheel. The 4x4 supplement to the manual explains that the system detects the spacesaver and
'Reduces the 4x4 drive to a minimum'

Got 14 inch steely in my panda boot no problem 2014 1.2 doesnt seem to raise carpet up more than a smidge that i can live with. Now to find a suitable jack
I bought a scissor jack from Screwfix. (http://www.screwfix.com/p/hilka-pro-craft-1-5-tonne-scissor-jack/97595)
It lifts the car high enough and feels more 'meaty' than the Fiat jack my old 4x4 had - rated at 1.5 tonnes. Its not a perfect fit on the sill, but works - I've tried it
(That older model used the standard jack and was supplied with an official lump of plastic to go under it to provide the extra 2 inches of lift!!)
Thanks for your help. The one I was thinking about was on Amazon but does not have the slit down the centre like this one has. On my old 56 plate Panda I am pretty certain it had a slot down the centre like the Screwfix one.
