Just getting used to my new Panda. One issue that bothers me is the lack of a glovebox lid. I note in the manual it talks about not leaving the lid open when driving as it might injure the passenger in an accident. Does anybody know if such a thing as a glovebox lid is available, or is available in other territories.

If there's no hope do any of you have a solution for storing the usual stuff out of sight?

It sounds as though you're confusing the glove box - with vertical lid on the passenger side of the dash - with the oddments shelf - the hollowed-out portion on top of the dash with no lid or cover in front of the passenger, above the glove box. Unfortunately, the glove box doesn't have the bumps on the sides that retained the handbook on previous Pandas, so everything has to muck in together in the rather restricted space in the latest model.

Do I take it your Panda does have a vertical door on the glovebox - mine doesn't. If that is the case then it must just be an omission on my Pop version and I should be able to order it from the dealers.

It never occurred to me that there might be a version with no door/flap on the glove box. I assume you'd have to check that there is provision for mounting the hinges on the bottom lip of the dash and the catch on the top lip.

Yes. Pretty much. It does look like it has a blanking plate where the catch might be.

depends on spec however I see no reason why it would not fit (same dash), note lid comes separate from main body of glovebox.
